Fantasy Football Preview: Philadelphia Eagles vs Denver Broncos

What happens when a disappointing team and a bad team with a winning record meet? We’ll find out Sunday as the Philadelphia Eagles fly into Denver to take on the Broncos. This matchup features two teams that aren’t really that impressive. But, the only thing impressive about either team is Denver’s win last week against the Cowboys. What players will make an impact? Here is this week’s fantasy football preview: Philadelphia Eagles vs Denver Broncos!

Must play:

Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts report card vs Chargers: Balance creates another nice showing

Just like the Eagles organization as a whole, it’s been an up and down season for Jalen Hurts. When he’s at his best he’s nearly unstoppable. But, anything else is fair game. Yes, the Denver defense succeeded in shutting down Dak Prescott last week. But that was last week. Now they have to worry about Jalen Hurts. This season Jalen Hurts has 11 touchdowns, four interceptions and 1,981 passing yards. On average, quarterbacks get nearly 240 passing yards and one touchdown per game. Expect that from Hurts.

Prediction: 25-35, 260 passing yards, 1 touchdown

Jerry Jeudy

New way to get Jerry Jeudy involved had instant impact for Broncos' offense

Fantasy owners who held on to Jerry Jeudy while he was on IR will be rejoicing after this week. The Eagles have given up eight touchdowns to wide receivers this season. After this Sunday, add Jerry Jeudy to the list. Jeudy should be in the WR2 slot of the flex position on all rosters.

Prediction: 7 catches, 110 receiving yards, 1 touchdown

Also start:

Dallas Goedert

Dallas Goedert is one of Jalen Hurts’ favorite targets. He averages about 15 yards per reception and has 401 receiving yards. This weekend, Goedert will break a trend that has happened so far against the Broncos defense. He will catch a touchdown. That’s right, tight end’s have not lucked out so far with scoring against Denver’s defense… until Sunday.

Prediction: 5 catches, 80 receiving yards, 1 touchdown

Javonte Williams

Yes, start Williams over Melvin Gordon. Williams has more touchdowns and is just 11 yards behind Gordon for team leader in rushing yards. Williams will easily eclipse 100 rushing yards against the Eagles as this defense averages to give up over 100 rushing yards per game this season.

Prediction: 15 rushes, 120 rushing yards, 1 touchdown

Toss up:

Noah Fant

DENVER BRONCOS: Noah Fant off COVID-19 protocol list, back on Broncos active roster | FOX31 KDVR

This is a surprise yes. But, keep in mind this situation. Fant is coming back after testing positive for Covid-19. Plus, with Jerry Jeudy being back and Javonte Williams heating up, there’s a chance Fant only has a limited amount of snaps and might not see any balls thrown his way. It’ll take a week or two for Fant to be fully back to being himself.

Prediction: 4 catches, 50 receiving yards

Avoid:

Kenneth Gainwell

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 8: Kenneth Gainwell Is a Top-Priority Add | Bleacher Report | Latest News, Videos and Highlights

Just don’t bother. Gainwell at times is overhyped and let’s down just about all of his owners every week. In a game where the Eagles offense might have to get creative to win, Gainwell won’t be much of a factor at all. Keep Gainwell on the bench.

Prediction: 15 rushes, 40 rushing yards
