College Football Week 8 Locks

Welcome back to college football week number eight and today I have some locks to share with you for the Saturday slate of football games. Last week we went 1-2 on our locks of the week. We sniffed right through that line in the NC State vs Boston College game. Tennessee’s quarterback gets hurt and there backup stinks out loud so nothing you can do on that one. The Nebraska one I was way off on and for that I apologize. Now with that being said here are my college football locks for week number eight.

Locks Record: 1-2 (-2.1 units)

Wisconsin -3.5 vs Purdue

If you have looked at the way that Wisconsin has played this year, you would say to yourself why are they are 3.5 point favorite on the road against Purdue. Now this is the same Purdue team that is now ranked and took down number two Iowa last week. They should be riding some serious momentum going into this game so how is Purdue an underdog here and how do you not take them against Wisconsin. Purdue is riding this emotional high right now after beating their first ranked opponent since 2007 which snaps the longest drought of any Power Five program.

So Graham Mertz stinks this year and I ask myself why on god’s green earth am I taking Wisconsin -3.5. I am taking it because that is how much the line doesn’t make sense to me. Wisconsin is going to slow the ball down, run the clock and grind out a big win over 25 Purdue. Lock in Wisconsin -3.5 for your boy this week.

Boston College +5.5 vs Louisville

I was on the opposite side of Boston College last week when they took on NC State. I love them as an underdog this week against Louisville. Don’t get me wrong Malik Cunnigham has put together a solid season overall with eighteen total touchdowns and two interceptions. Boston College is without their starting quarterback again this week, but their backup Denis Grosel hasn’t looked bad for the Eagles. I think Boston College is going to try and win the time of possession battle and keep Malik Cunningham and that Louisville offense off the field.

Louisville’s defense is known for giving up a ton of yards, and with Boston College’s solid running game I think their gameplan can work tremendously tonight. Boston College is getting five and a half points and I think that is an absolute lock if I have seen one. Lock in the Eagles +5.5 for your boy tonight.

Nevada +3.5 vs Fresno State

This is a big game in the Mountain West this week. Nevada is on the road at Fresno State and both are trying to catch up to San Diego State for the west side of the Mountain West. Carson Strong and that Wolfpack offense will be the difference maker in this football game. If Strong can bounce back after a mediocre performance last week, I like Nevada to win this game outright. However, with being the cautious warrior that I am in these situations, I love Nevada getting three and a half here.

The Wolfpack are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games at Fresno State. Nevada also has won four out of the last six meetings with Fresno State as well. I have them as my underdog of the week and I have just talked myself into taking Nevada both ways now. Lock in Nevada +3.5 and moneyline at +150 for your boy.
