LA Rams at Lions: Fantasy Football Preview

Week seven of the NFL Schedule just gets better and better doesn’t it? On this set of games put out by the NFL, it brings a clash between two QB’s facing their former teams in the LA Rams at Lions match happening Sunday afternoon. For Fantasy Football League managers, you must be wondering how to go about your lineups this week right? Well, allow me to help you make some decisions on who you should start, bench and keep a close eye on this week.

Here are my choices.

Who You Should Start: Rams at Lions

BOTH QUARTERBACKS!

Stafford has been going off this year. However, for Goff it may be a tough one so far in Detroit. One thing you can’t forget though, is he knows weakness in the LA Rams defense to expose in this matchup.

Coming into a week seven matchup, where both QB’s are set to face their former teams, you best believe this is going to be a sling fest! For Goff, the connection between him and TJ Hockenson is a lethal one to put on the Rams defense. Meanwhile for Stafford, him throwing to Kupp spells a miserable week for this Lions defense.

Consider Benching…

Robert Woods – LA Rams WR.

I know some of you may be thinking, “He’s their WR2 option!” And I get why you’d think that. However, think again!

Going against a Detroit Lions secondary defense that has been 13th in fewest points per game allowed to wide receivers, this is simply the wrong matchup for Woods. Alongside of this, consider the fact that his target share has been inconsistent. There are weeks where he’s he primary target and weeks where he’s fighting to be targeted versus a decent tight end like Tyler Higbee. Given the type of matchups we are seeing this week and his production continuing to fluctuate so much, it’s too risky to start him.

Who You Should Keep An Eye On Though..

Amon-Ra St. Brown – Detroit Lions WR

Considered a top five option this week in waiver wires across most leagues, St. Brown is one to certainly keep an eye on.

The Detroit Lions aside of dealing with yet another horrible season, they are dealing with players down for the count. Tyrell Williams left last game with a concussion, Quintez Cephus also did the same but with a broken collarbone. So what does this mean for St. Brown, far more targets potentially! In a game where you can expect Jared Goff to go off against his former team, do not be surprise to see Amon-Ra involved in a lot of action against this Rams defense.

In fact, expect the Rams defense to potentially disregard the fact of his involvement and focus more on shutting down TJ Hockenson. Should that be the case, that’s just a bad call by Sean McVay and his defensive team as Amon-Ra has caught almost every target thrown his way. If you need to make a waiver wire move this week, highly recommend snatching him right away.

What a matchup this is going to be with the LA Rams at Lions! Enjoy and good luck this week fantasy football managers.
