The Bruins Are Ready To ROLL the Devils

The Boston Bruins travel to New Jersey tonight to take on the Devils. The Bruins are slowly getting healthy and trying to build momentum to a deep playoff push while the Devils are eliminated from playoff contention and are trying to play spoiler.

David Pastrnak returned to the B’s lineup Tuesday night and resumed his role on the top line with Bergeron and Marchand. In the Bruins’ 5-0 win Pasta registered 3 shots on goal and skated about 15 minutes of ice time. This is a perfect time for Pasta to get his legs back under him and get readjusted to NHL action.

The Bruins new look third line with Heinen-Kuraly-Wagner were able to put some points on the board and recorded an aggressive night.

That could be good news for the Bruins as they have struggled with scoring depth for much of the year. The Bruins defense had an impressive night against a great Islanders team as they only allowed 13 shots on goal for the game. Rask was able to turn away all 13 he faced and will be in net again tonight against the Devils.

The Devils are out of contention for the playoffs and are making sure their younger guys are getting prepared to take the NHL by storm next year.

They welcome back Pavel Zacha from the IR and have a some young defenseman who are experiencing their first NHL seasons.

The Devils are still without Hall, obviously their best player, and have struggled to score this year in his absence. In net they’ve had a miserable year with Schneider and Blackwood who’ve lost two in a row and only scored just one goal in those two.

Zajac is their only active player above 40 points and he’s more of a playmaker than a goal scorer. The Devils were sellers at the deadline but they’ll be retooling over the summer and hoping for a healthy year and a return to the playoffs.

The puck drops at 7:00 tonight and The Bruins could certainly use a hot streak after a short three game losing stint.
