Bruins Trade Target: Vladimir Tarasenko
The Boston Bruins are in need of some scoring help and one name that’s been tossed around a bit is St. Louis Blues’ Winger Vladimir Tarasenko.
The St. Louis Blues have been very underwhelming and sit at the bottom of the league with a 13-15-4 record. Reports are coming out of the Blues front office that they would be willing to dish off some big pieces in order to re-establish themselves and rebuild their core. The Blues are certainly not forced to move Tarasenko but if they’re looking to completely rebuild, he would fetch the best return.
Tarasenko is just 27 years old and has shown he has the goalscoring ability that many teams are looking for. During his
As a big bodied forward Tarasenko is able to get to some gritty areas but he’s also got a rifle of a shot and some hands to go with it. He’s on quite the team friendly contract too as he’s signed until 2023-24 at a 7.5 million dollar cap hit. The Bruins would be able to fit that number in although it may lead to some interesting choices down the road.
So what could the Bruins offer? The Blues are looking to get younger and acquire picks and prospects along with maybe one or two NHL ready players.
A deal for Tarasenko would receive a return similar to what the Senators just got for Erik Karlsson. However, Karlsson was traded with only one season left on his deal. The Bruins would be able to offer up just about any of their young prospects. The only name they should shy away from would be McAvoy. Other than that send any player you want.
DeBrusk might be one to try to hold onto but with Tarasenko coming in return the Bruins could manage without him. Guys like Carlo, Heinen, Donato would be good pieces to send out along with some picks and even younger prospects like Lauzon or Frederic.
If the Blues do choose to move Tarasenko it will be only for the right deal and they surely won’t take anything less than a haul for him. Tarasenko does have a modified no-trade clause that kicks in on July, 1st, 2019 so they will be looking to move him before then if they choose to do so.
Who wouldn’t want this guy on their team?

A player like Tarasenko would add huge depth to the Bruins and fill their need for a scoring winger for not only this year but many years after. With teams like Toronto and Tampa having a stacked top six, the Bruins need to do something to match them and Tarasenko could be their answer.
