Bobby Dalbec smashes two more home runs in the Red Sox loss to the Rays
Bobby Dalbec was the only bright spot for the Red Sox on Wednesday. The rookie first baseman slugged two home runs in the eight and ninth innings respectively.
There hasn’t been much to cheer about for the Red Sox over the last three games. The Red Sox have now lost three straight games following their 12-7 loss to the Rays on Tuesday.

Dalbec finished the game going 2-for-4 with the two home runs and four RBIs. The 26-year-old now has 20 home runs on the season.
The slugging first baseman has been one of the Red Sox hottest hitters since Aug. 1st. Dalbec has gone 28-for-82 hitting .341 over the span of a month. The rookie was also named the August AL Rookie of the Month.

Tampa Bay Rays extend their AL East division lead
The Rays got out to a huge 12-1 lead at Fenway Park. The Fenway Faithful voiced their displeasure by heavily booing Jordan Luplow’s three-run home run in the seventh inning. Luplow’s home run came off of newly acquired Brad Peacock.
Boston will try and avoid the sweep at the hands of the Rays on Wednesday night. Boston is still a half game behind New York for the top Wild Card spot. However, the red-hot Blue Jays are now just two games behind the Red Sox for the final Wild Card spot.
