Bandits Rebound Against the FireWolves

The Buffalo Bandits would suffer their first loss of the season against the Toronto Rock last weekend. The offense had their chances but Rock goalie Nick Rose was outstanding. Buffalo couldn’t win any faceoffs and goaltender Matt Vinc didn’t play his best game. With the loss, Buffalo would be 6-1. They couldn’t dwell on it as they would host the Albany FireWolves the following weekend and would look to rebound.

Buffalo trailed the FireWolves 1-0 going into the 2nd quarter. In that quarter, it was all Bandits thanks to goals from Tehoka Nanticoke, Chris Cloutier and Connor Fields, who all scored twice in the quarter. At halftime, the Bandits would hold a 6-1 lead. Despite having a great 2nd quarter, it was all Albany in the 3rd quarter as they would regain the lead after scoring 7 straight goals to take a 8-6 lead heading into the final quarter. It was a chippy quarter as there would be two scrums. In one of the scrums, FireWolves goalie Doug Jamieson would clip Dhane Smith in the facemask with his stick following one of Albany’s defenders hitting Nanticoke in the face. Then, Vinc would be involved in a collision with Nick Chaykowski.

After a physical 3rd quarter in which saw Albany retake the lead, it was all Buffalo in the 4th quarter. Just like how Albany went on a 7-0 run in the previous quarter, Buffalo would go on their own 7-0 run in the last frame. The Bandits would win the game 13-8 and would improve to 7-1 on the season. Before the game, Buffalo signed Max Adler to help out with their faceoff problems. Adler would win a few faceoffs, which is a sigh of relief. The Bandits will look to go 8-1 as they will head down the thruway for a meeting with the Knighthawks in Rochester on Saturday night.
