Bandits Look to Rebound After Suffering their First Loss of the Season

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and that was the case for the Buffalo Bandits last Saturday as they would suffer their first defeat of the season at the hands of the Toronto Rock. It was the first time this season where the Bandits didn’t look like the dominant team that we know. Despite a late push, Buffalo couldn’t come back and they would lose the game by a final score of 12-10.

There were a couple of things that caught my eye during the game. First, goaltender Matt Vinc didn’t play his best game. Don’t get me wrong, he’s still one of the best if not, the best goaltender in the game, but the Rock got the better of him on Saturday. He just let in some goals that he usually stops but sometimes the best have bad moments and that game was a bad moment for Vinc.

The main reason why I think the Bandits lost this game is because of their lack of winning faceoffs. During the game, Toronto won 22 consecutive faceoffs. That is not good whatsoever and I personally think the Bandits should trade for a player who can win faceoffs because right now, it’s not working with what they have going on. That is a reason why their in close games. It’s because after every draw, it seems like they are always on defense. We know how good the offense is and I feel like if they win faceoffs, then they can do even more damage. If there’s one bad thing about this Bandits team, it’s their inability to win consecutive faceoffs. Buffalo sits at 6-1 and will look to rebound tomorrow night as they will host the Albany Firewolves.
