Are the Dallas Cowboys Legit?
The Cowboys had a rough start to the NFL season by starting three and five. The team had one of the worst loses in franchise history on Monday night football against the Tennessee Titans. The media immediately began to harshly criticize Owner Jerry Jones to fire the head coach Jason Garret. However, since that moment on, the Cowboys have turned things around winning three straight games and putting the team in first place of the NFC East.
NFL world: Don’t let this Cowboy team jell, peak, start hitting on every cylinder, catch fire. It has nuclear capability. Could make a deep playoff run if everything falls into place. Beware Dallas.

With wins over the Philadelphia Eagles, the Atlanta Falcons, and recently the Washington Redskins, the Cowboys have really seemed to find their identity, setting themselves up as favorites to win their division. The New York Giants have put themselves into a major hole. The Giants now have seven losses and no one sees that team running the table the rest of the year to win the division.
The Eagles also have not been a good team this year. Carson Wentz hasn’t been consistent as the Eagles have put a lot of pressure on their defense to make stops throughout games. The Redskins have lost Quarterback Alex Smith for the season. This helps Dallas a lot because Washington was the team that was favored to win the division. With a division that is considered very weak, the Cowboys are my favorite to clinch the NFC East and go back to the playoffs.
The Cowboys showed they want to win now. They gave up a first-round draft pick for former Oakland Raider Amari Cooper. People believe they gave up a lot for just one player. However, Cooper proved on Thanksgiving that he might have just been worth it. He racked up 180 yards receiving with two touchdowns. Running back Ezekiel Eliot has been a real workhorse these last three games. He has a total of 531 yards from scrimmage with four touchdowns. Also, Quarterback Dak Prescott has been consistent during these three games with not turning over the football.
Ezekiel Elliott had a season-high 31 touches during the Cowboys’ 3rd straight win today.

If the Dallas Cowboys can ignore the noise and keep playing up to their potential, they can make a lot of things interesting. Obviously, they aren’t the best team in the NFC but anything could happen on any given Sunday. This team has one of the best running backs in the league, along with one the best offensive lines in the league.
If Dak can play turnover-free football and Eliot stays healthy, this team could make some noise in the playoffs. However, the Cowboys are known for blowing big moments. Can they stay consistent for the rest of the year or are they going to find a way to shoot themselves in the foot. We shall see, it should be fun to watch.
