Jeff Hoak 2022 NFL Mock Draft 3.0

============================================================================

1. Jacksonville Jaguars select DT, Travon Walker out of Georgia

Yes, a surprise to kick off the 2022 NFL Draft. Travon Walker has been rumored for weeks now to the Jaguars, and apparently, Baalke is enamored with him.

Baalke will pull the trigger and go with Walker at first overall.

2. Detroit Lions select DE, Aiden Hutchinson out of Michigan

Lions bring in the Michigan product to bolster their D-Line.

3. Houston Texans select OT, Evan Neal out of Alabama

One of the biggest issues for the Texans last season was their O-Line, so, with the best O-Lineman on the board, why not take him and protect Davis Mills!

4. New York Jets select S, Kyle Hamilton out of Notre Dame

Nothing changes here, Kyle Hamilton to the Jets seems like a lock if he lands at 4.

5. New York Giants select DE, Kayvon Thibodeaux out of Oregon

This would be a home run pick for the Giants, Thibs would fit in perfectly in this Giants defense!

6. Carolina Panther select QB, Kenny Pickett out of Pittsburgh

Matt Rhule loves Pickett, this pick seems like a match made in heaven.

7. New York Giants (via Chicago) select CB, Sauce Gardner out of Cincinnati

From D-Line to Secondary, the Giants land one of the top Corners in hopes to bolster their secondary, especially if they plan on moving on from James Bradberry.

8. TRADE: Pittsburgh Steelers (Via Atlanta) select QB, Malik Willis out of Liberty

The first massive movement of the 2022 NFL Draft comes from the Steelers, they LOVE Malik Willis, and it sounds more and more realistic as we move closer that if he falls in this area they will make a move for him.

Especially since they will move in front of Seattle to solidify it.

9. Seattle Seahawks (via Denver) select OT, Icky Ekwonu out of NC State

Whoever the QB ends up needing to be protected, and Icky is one of the best and would fill a major need for the Seahawks

10. New York Jets (via Seattle) select CB, Derek Stingley Jr. out of LSU

The other team out of Metlife Stadium really goes all-in on secondary, this time going for a top-flight cornerback to go along with Kyle Hamilton.

Man, that secondary could be deadly for the Jets this season.

11. Washington Commanders select WR, Drake London out of USC

Washington got their QB in Carson Wentz, now it is time to get him another weapon on the other side of Scary Terry, Drake London is that guy and could be a big piece to a rebuilding Washington.

The move makes too much sense now that Scary Terry is looking for a new contract.

12. Minnesota Vikings select C, Tyler Linderbaum out of Iowa

Protecting Kirk Cousins should be a top priority for the Vikings, and Tyler Linderbaum can do just that.

As long as Cousins can line up behind the right guy this year.

13. Houston Texans (via Cleveland) select DE, George Karlaftis out of Purdue

As I said, a lot of needs for Houston, so they will now shift their focus to the defense, and Karlaftis is just the guy that can help build your defense around, and if there is any draft to do that, it is the defensive heavy 2022 NFL Draft.

14. Baltimore Ravens select DL, Jermaine Johnson II out of Florida State

Baltimore bolsters their D-Line with a tremendous pickup in Jermaine Johnson.

15. Philadelphia Eagles (via Miami) select LB, Devin Lloyd out of Utah

The Eagles need to get faster on defense, and this is the best route to go, the best linebacker in this class.

16. New Orleans (Via Philly) select QB, Desmond Ridder out of Cincinnati

New Orleans traded with the Eagles to move up to pick 16 in what seems like a move in hopes a QB they want will be there.

In this scenario, it is Desmond Ridder who is a sneaky and surprising pick in this spot.

17. Los Angeles Chargers select OT, Charles Cross out of Mississippi State

Chargers bolster their O-Line with a good young piece in Charles Cross who can protect Justin Herber for years to come.

18. Philadelphia Eagles (Via NOLA) select DL, Jordan Davis out of Georgia

In the 2022 NFL Mock Draft, the Eagles need to figure out a replacement plan after the year for Fletcher Cox, this is the best option for them, and they cannot pass it up.

19. New Orleans Saints (Via Philly) select WR, Garrett Wilson out of The Ohio State

Get new QB Desmond Ridder a new weapon to pair with Michael Thomas? WHY NOT!

20. Atlanta Falcons (Via Pittsburgh Steeler) select WR, Jameson Williams out of Alabama

If the Falcons are sticking with Mariota, they need to get him, someone, to throw to Kyle Pitts. Williams is arguably the best receiver in this draft, and this could be an absolute steal.

21. New England Patriots select LB, Nakobe Dean out of Georgia

I have wavered on this pick, but I firmly land on either a trade or a linebacker. Nakobe Dean fits the Patriot’s defensive bill perfectly, especially if they are looking to get faster on the defense.

22. Green Bay Packers (via Las Vegas) select WR, Treylon Burks out of Arkansas

No change here, Green Bay gets their new WR for Aaron Rodgers after losing Devante Adams

23. Arizona Cardinals select CB, Trent McDuffie out of Washington

Cornerback is the need for Arizona, and McDuffie is the best available at this spot.

24. Dallas Cowboys select OT, Trevor Penning out of Northern Iowa

Need to bolster the o-line after losing La’el Collins, Trevor Penning is by no means a sexy name, but he can be a damn goof on the Cowboys

25. Buffalo Bills select CB, Andrew Booth Jr. out of Clemson

I am dead set on Buffalo taking a corner, last 2022 NFL Mock Draft I had them taking Kair Elam, but my mind is shifting towards Booth Jr. to help bolster Buffalo’s secondary.

26. Tennessee Titans select OL, Kenyon Green out of Texas A&M

Had the Titans going wide receiver in the 2022 NFL Mock Draft 1.0, but after re-assessing, and the trade for Robert Woods, we will shift our focus to O-Line who will protect aging QB, Ryan Tannehill

Stays the same in my 2022 NFL Mock Draft 3.0!!

27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers select OT, Zion Johnson out of Boston College

Brady retired, then came back, but the team also lost Alex Cappa and lost pro bowl center Ali Marpet, so, they need to do some work on the o-line, that is where Zion Johnson comes in, an underrated player you do not hear much about out of Boston College who can help piece back together this O-line.

28. Green Bay Packers select OT, Tyler Smith out of Tulsa

Packers could use some help to bolster the O-Line, Tyler Smith is a good choice to help protect the multi-million dollar, Aaron Rodgers

29. Kansas City Chiefs (via Miami) select S, Daxton Hill out of Michigan

After losing Charvarious Ward, the Chiefs are extremely thin at Safety, incomes Daxton Hill who has impressed throughout the draft process and could be in line to be on an immediate contender.

30. Kansas City Chiefs select WR, Jahan Dotson out of Penn State

Dotson is what I call the poor man Jameson Williams, and with Williams gone, Dotson slides right into the Tyreek Hill roll perfectly.

31. Cincinnati Bengals select DE, Boye Mafe out of Minnesota

Originally my play was to go offensive line with this pick, but, Cincy did more than enough in Free Agency to bolster that. So, we will look to the defense, and Edge rusher Boye Mafe. Not a household name at all, but he certainly has the numbers to be a sneaky back-end first-rounder.

32. Detroit Lions (via Los Angeles Rams) select S, Lewis Cline out of Georiga

Cline has had an impressive pre-draft, and with all the holes that Detroit has, no better place to start than the secondary!
