2022 NFL Draft Team Needs: Part Two- Picks 17 through 32

2022 NFL Draft Needs- Picks 17 through 32

17. Los Angeles Chargers
Needs- OT, EDGE, CB, IDL
Key Free Agents- DT, Linval Joseph – WR, Mike Williams – CB, Chris Harris – TE, Jared Cook
Synopsis- Last year LA took arguably the best OT off the board with Rashawn Slater. This year, if they decide not to go with an OT again, then look for them to shore up that defensive front 7, especially if Linval Joseph does not return
18. New Orleans Saints
Needs- QB, WR, OT
Key Free Agents- LT, Terron Armstead – FS, Marcus Williams – QB, Jameis Winston – CB, PJ Williams – LB, Kwon Alexander
Synopsis- Saints are cap-strapped badly this offseason, so god knows how they will take care of the free agency. Draft-wise, their main objective is to draft a QB if they see one that fits at this pick.
19. Philadelphia Eagles
Needs- EDGE, CB, IOL
Key Free Agents- DE, Derek Barnett – FS, Anthony Harris – S, Rodney McLeod
Synopsis- Philly needs defense, it is as simple as that, they were burned last season, so expect them, a Wide Receiver would not hurt them either. If they do not draft a bad one again that is.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers
Needs- QB, OL
Key Free Agents- CB, Joe Haden – WR, Ju Ju Smith Schuster – S, Terrell Edmunds – CB- Ahkello Weatherspoon
Synopsis- I do not think there is any question or argument over what the Steelers need to do in the first round of this year’s draft, and that takes a QB. If they do not, well they are more stupid than we thought.
21. New England Patriots
Needs- LB, CB, WR
Key Free Agents- CB, JC Jackson – S, Devin McCourty – OT, Trent Brown
Synopsis- Patriots will most likely go defense if they end up picking with the 21st overall pick, this is usually a dead spot for picking which sucks. Although there are plenty of LBs in this year’s class, which is exactly what they need, a speedy linebacker or a new CB if they let Jackson walk.
22. Las Vegas Raiders
Needs- IDL, IOL, CB, WR
Key Free Agents- DT, Quinton Jefferson – DE, Solomon Thomas
Synopsis- Defense, which is the key to the Raiders in this year’s draft, shore up that front seven and start building for the future.
23. Arizona Cardinals
Needs- CB, EDGE, RB
Key Free Agents- RB, James Conner – LB, Chandler Jones – TE, Zach Ertz
Synopsis- With two big pieces in Chandler Jones and James Conner possibly leaving in Free Agency the positions could be handled in the draft, especially with as deep of an LB class as this year will be.
24. Dallas Cowboys
Needs- EDGE, S, IDL
Key Free Agents- LB, Leighton Vander Esch – FS, Keanu Neal
Synopsis- Dallas offense is obviously still a weapon when it wants to be, so with that in mind they could use some more help on defense. Especially on the edges, there are some good pieces made just for that in this year’s draft.
25. Buffalo Bills
Needs- IDL, OL, EDGE
Key Free Agents- N/A
Synopsis- What does the team that feels like has everything need in the first round of the NFL draft?
Well, this is an obvious trade-out spot, but if they were to pick someone, it would have to be some more O-Line Power or an interior D-Lineman.
26. Tennessee Titans
Needs- LB, TE, CB, OT, WR
Key Free Agents- LB, Rashaan Evans – LB, Jayon Brown – TE, Anthony Firkser – LB, Harold Landry
Synopsis- Take a linebacker, that is all I need to say… with such a deep class, take a linebacker! Especially if you lose Evans, Landry, and/or Jayon Brown
27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Needs- WR, OT, CB
Key Free Agents- WR, Chris Godwin – LB, Jason Pierre-Paul – C, Ryan Jenson – Ndamukong Suh – TE, Rob Gronkowski – RB, Leonard Fournette – QB, Blaine Gabbert – TE. OJ Howard – DE, William Gholston
Synopsis- Ohhh boy, quite the list of Free Agents for the Bucs, best route to go in this year’s draft is a common theme in this write-up, and that is a speedy linebacker or edge rusher to fill the holes of Gholston or Pierre-Paul.
28. Green Bay Packers
Needs- EDGE, OT, IDL
Key Free Agents- WR, Davante Adams – CB, Kevin King – TE, Robert Tonyan – DE, De’Vondre Campbell – CB, Rasul Douglas
Synopsis- Another team in cap hell that needs some help, it all depends on what Aaron Rodgers decides to do.
I am going to go with the Packers taking an edge rusher of a sort with their 28th pick if they do not trade it.
29. Miami Dolphins (From San Francisco)
Needs- RB, OT, EDGE, LB
Key Free Agents- TE, Mike Gesicki
Synopsis- This is tough because the Dolphins need an RB, but obviously not taking one in the first round. Their best bet here is to go OT and start to build that line around Tua, that should be their biggest focus, protect Tua.
30. Kansas City Chiefs
Needs- WR, EDGE, S, LB, CB
Key Free Agents- S, Tyrann Mathieu
Synopsis- This may seem bizarre, but depending on what’s left in the back end of the first round, if I were the Chiefs I think you need to go a WR here, give Mahomes another weapon that will help ease some weight off of Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce.
31. Cincinnati Bengals
Needs- OFFENSIVE LINE GODDAMMIT
Key Free Agents- S, Jessie Bates – CB, Eli Apple – LB, Jordan Evans
Synopsis- Do I really need to say anything here? I feel like this is the easiest pick of the whole draft. Take an O-Lineman and protect your damn Quarterback!
32. Detroit Lions (from Los Angeles Rams)
Needs- Edge, S, QB, WR
Key Free Agents- N/A
Synopsis- Detroit will pick twice in the first round this year, thanks to the trade of Matthew Stafford. The biggest need for them is an edge, given the Trey Flowers experiment has blown up, so lucky for Detroit, the two top players in this year’s draft, are edge rushers.
As for the pick on the back end of the first round? Take the best player available, maybe even a WR to help Jared Goff out some.
