Young Gun vs Old Blood: Josh Allen and Tom Brady to Kick Off the NFL Season?

The NFL schedule comes out tomorrow and the speculation for games are in full swing. We do know one thing, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be kicking off the regular season at home under the lights. They will also be hanging up their Super Bowl banner as well. There is a question however that remains, who will they be facing? Based on speculation, the teams who are rumored to be the front runners are the New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills. In this article, I’m going to tell you why Bills vs. Bucs is the best way to kick off the 2021 NFL season.

Renewing An Old Rivalry

Before you say it’s not much of a rivalry, I get it. Tom Brady has owned the Bills during his career with a record of 32-3. Just when you think Bills fans could escape him after two decades of being dominated, Buffalo will be seeing their kryptonite once again this upcoming season. With that being said, it makes so much sense kicking off the season against a familiar foe. We were so close to seeing these two teams in the Super Bowl last year but Kansas City decided to intervene and defeated Buffalo in the AFC championship game. With both teams being contenders this season, it makes so much sense having them face off in Week 1.

Possible Super Bowl Preview

Yes, it’s definitely possible these two teams could face off against one another in the Super Bowl. Tampa won it all and Buffalo was just game away from going to the big game. If you would’ve told me these two teams were Super Bowl contenders a couple of years ago, I would’ve thought you were crazy. It is real, these two could be seeing each other in the Super Bowl and this is another reason why it’s a no brainer to have them face off under the lights to start the regular season.

Young Gun vs Old Blood

The last reason why this should be the matchup on opening night is because of the two quarterbacks. Josh Allen is the young gun and Tom Brady is the old blood. In his young career, Allen has never defeated Brady. He will get his chance to beat TB12 for the first time this season and even though Brady is still the guy we saw in New England, Allen has gotten better and so have the Bills. It’s a chance at redemption for the Bills and Allen, this is the last reason why the NFL should have this matchup to start off the season.

Final Thoughts

Tomorrow night is when the NFL schedule comes out and this matchup could definitely be the one to kick it all off. Two contenders is exactly what NFL fans want to see and it has the makings to be an interesting game. We’ll see what transpires tomorrow night @8pm.
