Yellow Card Podcast Episode 35

Happy Sunday everyone! Welcome back to the latest episode of the Yellow Card Podcast on the CouchGuySports network. Diego, Chris and Andrew were back in the zoom studio with plenty of topics to cover, so make sure you take a listen to hear to latest news in the world of soccer.

Topics

This week, the crew dove some storylines from various leagues and cup competitions that are coming to a close. To start, we took a look the FA Cup final, which saw Leicester City win the competition for the first time in their club’s history.

Next, the boys turned their attention to the continental competitions. The Europa League final will take place between Villareal and Manchester United on May 26th. The Spanish side must win in order to qualify for next year’s Champions League. On the other hand, victory would be a great next step for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s project at United.

The final of the Champions League will take place three days later, on the 29th. It will be an all English affair, as the two teams involved are Chelsea and Manchester City. The matchup is packed full of exciting storylines. It will also see two of Europe’s finest defenses go head to head.

Next up, the trio discussed Zinedine Zidane’s impending departure from Real Madrid. Diego called the departure way back in December, so he had plenty of time to brainstorm potential replacements.

Lastly, the boys turned the focus on the hometown New England Revolution. The Revs have gotten off to a decent start this season. They have a chance to continue building in the right direction against the defending champions Columbus Crew tonight.
