WWE Great Balls of Fire Predictions

With the NHL, NBA and NFL in their offseason and David Price managing to go six days without causing a scene I’ve had enough time to get back into the WWE and despite the horrifically stupid name Great Balls of fire is shaping up to be a very good paper view especially considering it’s a one show affair.

Pre-Show Match:  Neville (c) vs Akira Tozawa

Further evidence that the Cruiserweights are getting no respect, their championship match has been bumped to the pre show.  Maybe the bookers think it is fine because it’s pretty easy to see that Neville is going to retain, which he should. But a championship match should not be on the pre show it horribly devalues the title and division as a whole.

Match 1: Cesaro and Sheamus (c) vs The Hardy Boyz

I think Cesaro and Sheamus retain their titles and kick start the Broken Matt Hardy story line that seems to have had its seeds planted in the feuding teams cage match when Jeff cost the Hardyz the win.  Likely the same type of thing will happen and it will cause a rift that leads to Matt’s return to the gimmick that got the Hardyz back to the WWE.

Match 2: Seth Rollins vs Bray Wyatt

This match has suck fest written all over it theses guys have very little chemistry and this match just feels like something to keep them busy.  Neither of these two have been able to really put on good matches lately and are cold as hell.  With that said Seth Rollins will win because losing at pay per views is what Bray does.

Match 3: Enzo Amore vs Big Cass

There has been a lot of great mic work leading into this match first Cass running down Enzo before attacking him the first time then Enzo’s apology and culminating with Enzo just eviscerating Cass calling him “a seven foot catchphrases that I made!” I hope this match lives up to that talk.  I think Enzo wins via roll up and big Cass just destroys him after the match to push the feud to Summerslam and hopefully a street fight.

Match 4: Alexa Bliss (C) vs Sasha Banks

Alexa Bliss has been a great heel champ and the most improved wrestler aside from maybe Strowman.  She has flourished at the top of the division and I don’t see why that should stop now.  Sasha is the only other superstar that is capable of holding the belt right now until Bayley can recover from her shit booking.  Alexa should win via some bullshit to extend the feud until they can build someone else into a credible threat.

Match 5: Braun Strowman vs Roman Reigns

This should be a great match and is probably the toughest to call because both these guy have come off looking great so I wouldn’t be mad no matter who won especially considering neither man is going to have to eat a pin.  Roman will likely pull out the win to make him the number one contender and face Lesnar at Summer Slam

Match 6: Miz (C) vs Dean Ambrose

Feels like the hundredth time we’ve gotten this match, but it will likely be pretty entertaining if a little by the numbers.  Miz and his new groupies will likely hold onto the IC title.

Main Event: Brock Lesnar (C) vs Samoa Joe

Credit to Lesnar he has really helped make Joe look like a real threat, and him and Joe have made the build to this feel like a real UFC build.  Joe has been booked great and surpassed everyone’s expectations I still think Brock retains but Joe certainly feels ready to hold the title and if he pulls it off he’s a made man.

Great Balls of Fire really has a chance to be in the discussion for show of the year the builds to all these matches (except Wyatt vs Rollins) have been great.  If this show delivers than Sunday will be a great night of wrestling.
