Would Kevin Garnett go into the Hall of Fame with the Timberwolves or Celtics?

The NBA came out with their 2020 Hall of Fame class. It is an absolutely LOADED cast when you look at all of the names it contains. One name that stands out to all Celtics fans is Kevin Garnett. Garnett was one of the fortunate former basketball players to get voted into the Hall of Fame.

Congrats to K.G. on the accomplishment! But now, there’s one big question that remains. Would he go into the Hall of Fame as a Celtic or a Timberwolve? Here’s the case for both teams!

The Timberwolves

Garnett spent 14 seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves organization. With his time in Minnesota, K.G. made the most of it. He made the All-star team 10 times. The man also won the 2003-2004 MVP award. For good measure, he was also the 2002-2003 NBA All-Star game MVP. He had an incredible run with the T’Wolves. Keep in mind that he also came back to Minnesota to finish out his career. It would totally make sense if K.G. were to decide to retire and pick the T’Wolves as his primary team.

The Celtics

For six seasons of his NBA career, Kevin Garnett was a vital member of the Boston Celtics. In his six seasons with the Celtics, he was an All-Star five times. He also won the 2007-2008 NBA Defensive Player of the Year award. And oh yeah, he was crucial to helping the Celtics win the 2008 NBA title. If he doesn’t get hurt during the 2008-2009 season, the Celtics probably repeat as champions. That’s how important he was to that team. K.G. loves Boston and what it stands for as a sports town. The man still comes back and visits while keeping close ties with old teammates like Paul Pierce and Kendrick Perkins. If K.G. were to pick the Celtics as his primary team, that would obviously be awesome for all of Boston to celebrate. It isn’t the most far fetched idea in the world.

The Nets

LOL! Nope.

In Conclusion

From a personal standpoint, I would love to see K.G. go down as a Celtic. Truthfully, I’d bet he chooses Minnesota. He had a lot of great seasons there and ended his career in a T’Wolves jersey. It would make too much sense. But, it still makes for a fun sports debate. What a ride it was watching K.G. in his prime! Congrats to you today, Kevin Garnett. You got your well deserved call to the Hall of Fame!
