Will Russ Fit in With the Rockets?
The Houston Rockets introduced former OKC star, Russell Westbrook, to the fans of the team on Friday. The organization is excited, as well as Westbrook, about the opportunity to continue to compete for a championship and become one of the best backcourts in the league.

However, it is going to be very interesting. James Harden last season had the ball pretty much every possession. Harden averaged 36.1 ppg and had a 19-game consecutive 30-point games with 11 of those games being with 40-point games. That was insane because Harden wasn’t even the MVP of the league. So, what makes you think Harden wouldn’t try to do even more next season?
Westbrook is also someone who needs the ball in his hands to be effective. It seems to me that Westbrook has had a tough time working with other superstars. He has been with two of them over the course of his career and both situations did not really work out. So, by him teaming up with another superstar, who runs a lot of isolation, will this be a good fit? That’s a scenario that remains to be seen.
“I do a lot of great things for the game. I look forward to doing that with this team as well.” 🚀

This Houston Rockets could be fun to watch or could be a disaster waiting to happen. They’ll struggle at first like most new teams but the question will be, can they overcome it? James Harden and Russell Westbrook are too good of players to just let a season go to waste. It is going to be an experience for the upcoming season, but if there are problems after year one, don’t be surprised if Westbrook is on the move again.
