Why The Next 9 Days Will Tell Us What The Red Sox are Made Of

How about them Sox huh? It is no news that the Red Sox have been playing some of the best baseball we have seen from them. They currently have a 4.5 game lead over the Yankees, who they open up a huge 4 game series against tonight.

Over the next 13 games the Sox play in 7 of them are against the Yankees, out of the remaining 6, 4 of them are against Cleveland. Both of these teams will make a push for the playoffs as the Indians currently lead their division by 3.5 games over the Twins, while the Yankees have control over the first wild card spot.

With the Red Sox playing well these next 13 games can really make or break their season. If the Sox win each of these next couple series they put themselves in great shape wrapping up August and heading into the final month of the season.

It all starts this weekend, the Sox need to stay hot and take at least three of these next 4 games against the Yankees, who by the way have been putting the word Suck in Yankees suck. Imagine if the Sox sweep and take an 8.5 game lead over the Yankees heading into the middle of August. That would be UUUUGEEE!!

In all seriousness, I am glad to see the Sox finally playing up to their potential and making themselves be back in the topic of a legit World Series contender. Once playoffs role around it is a whole new year so anything can happen!! Believe in Boston!
