What is YOUR Red Sox Record Predictions for 2021?

So listen everyone. I don’t know if you know this, but Spring Training is pretty much here. Pitchers and catchers are reporting and that means that our Boston Red Sox will be taking the field very soon. Now I know what some of you are thinking. “2021 isn’t going to be any different, 2020 was an awful year!” To the second part, I would say you’re 100% correct. For the first part however, I don’t know how true that really could be. Sure, the Red Sox didn’t make any big “splashes”. But 2021 could be a lot more fun than we initially think. Why? Well, here’s a few reasons.

The Pitching Staff

The pitching was atrocious in 2020. I mean, it stunk OUT LOUD! But this season could look a bit different. Chris Sale is saying how great he feels right now. Do I expect Sale back before the All-star break? No. But with the way he’s sounding, he could surprise a lot of us. If you can get Sale back and get him back to the 2017 Chris Sale, then that’s a step in the right direction. Eduardo Rodriguez is also feeling great after sitting out the 2020 season. He had a lot going on. So it’s good to see he’s feeling great as camp rolls around. If Sale and Rodriguez are healthy and producing, that’s already going to be more successful than last year.

The Confidence of Alex Cora

You love to see it from our manager, Alex Cora! Love him or hate him, Cora oozes passion for baseball in every part of his body. He sees a team that can contend in 2021. Now I know what some might be thinking, “What’s he going to say Al? They suck?” No, obviously not. But there’s a way to say “this year will be a rebuilding year”. Cora hasn’t said that. If the manager is this confident in a team on the first day, it’ll be amazing to see how the rest of camp unfolds in Cora’s eyes.

In Conclusion/My Prediction

The Boston Red Sox may not be as bad as you think. They need a lot to go right, don’t get me wrong. But we saw what happened in 2013.

My official prediction: 83-79
