We Got Some Pre-Draft Movement

There are always rumors of teams making draft day trades. A lot of the time they don’t end up happening. Well this year is different.

New Orleans trades away #4

Just a few days ago, the Pelicans traded away Anthony Davis. In return, they got a bevy of players and picks, including the #4 pick in this year’s draft. They were in pole position to control the draft with the first and fourth pick.

The pick was shipped to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for the #8,17,and 35 picks in this year’s draft. The Pelicans were also able to dump Soloman Hill’s contract onto the Hawks.

According to Woj, the Hawks plan on taking De’Andre Hunter from Virginia at 4.

Minnesota moves up

The Timberwolves were a pretty disapointing team this year. In an effort to retool they’ve sent the #11 pick and Dario Saric to Phoenix for the #6 pick. This comes after Minnesota failed to trade up to either 4 or 5.

Frankly, I’m not sure I would have taken this trade if I were the Suns. Although Saric will slide into TJ Warren’s old spot(more on him in a second). I think they would have been better suited to making the pick.

Phoenix gets some $

The Suns sent the #32 pick and the aforementioned TJ Warren to Indy in exchange for cash. Quite simply, the Suns were looking to cut some salary.

This is all pre-draft so buckle up, it’s going to be a good night.
