WAY Too Early Top 5 Patriots Non-Divisional Games to Watch for in 2021
The Patriots are going to be so much fun again in 2021. I mean, let’s think about how many signings they made in free agency. Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry, Matthew Judon, etc. have me ready for September to roll around. While we mention September, we have a 2021 schedule to look at right now. There are some big games on the schedule. With that being said, let’s look at the top five non divisional games for the Patriots in 2021.
#5 @ Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts will be a fun game to watch. They have always been a team that’s been a quarterback away. Now? They have former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz. Wentz leads a team that has a great defense, good running game, and solid lines on both ends of the ball. Whenever the Patriots line up against the Colts, make sure to tune in because it will be a heck of a game!
#4 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Don’t sleep on the Chargers here! Justin Herbert is going to turn a corner as an elite quarterback in the NFL. Yes, the Patriots slaughtered the Chargers in Los Angeles last season. But this season, the Chargers could look a lot different. This could be an old-fashioned shootout at Gillette.
#3 vs. Cleveland Browns
A home game against the Cleveland Browns gets the number three spot on this list. The Browns are so much fun to watch now. Their offense can beat you with the run or their passing game with Baker Mayfield leading the charge. They seem to have the right guy at the helm in Kevin Stefanski. 2021 will prove to be a make or break year for the Browns. Are they really good or were they a one year wonder? Time will tell with this matchup.
#2 vs. Tennessee Titans
Another home game against the Titans is a huge game for the Patriots. It’s a revenge game for Belichick after their 2019 wildcard playoff loss (Tom Brady’s last game too!) at home against Tennessee. Derrick Henry will look to run all over the Patriots defense. Mike Vrabel will look for another victory against his old coach. This will be one of the more fun games on the Patriots schedule.
#1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
You know this was going to be #1. It’s too easy. Brady vs. Belichick! Gronkowski comes back to town. That game is going to be as packed as it possibly can. This will be another revenge game for Belichick. He’s going to want to show everyone he can win without Tom Brady as his quarterback. Well, 2021 will give us an opportunity to see if that at all comes true.
In Conclusion
The 2021 season has some good games on hand. Forget the divisional games at this point. Non-divisional games will be a ton of fun. Add in Dallas, New Orleans, and a few others? Man oh man! Get me to September and let’s have a 2021 season.
