Here’s What You Need to Know About “The Sandlot” on it’s 27th Anniversary
If you don’t know this movie by now, then this is the perfect time to leave this article and go watch the movie first. Today is the 27th anniversary of one of the best movies ever created, “The Sandlot”.

I mean, there’s so many memorable scenes from this movie that are legendary. In case you’re a first time Sandlot viewer, here are a few things you need to know.
Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez= STUD
Every girl loved him and every guy wanted to be him. Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez was the best overall character in this movie. The kid had it all. He was a good-hearted kid for teaching Scott Smalls how to play the game of baseball. You couldn’t help but notice he was one of the smartest guys on that Sandlot squad. Plus, the baseball ability is through the roof. He had it all. The power, the speed, the athleticism, you name it and “The Jet” had it. Plus, he made it to the Major Leagues! Yeah, Benny is the real deal.
The Wendy Peffercorn Scene is Iconic
So for those that don’t know what I mean, allow me to break it down for you. Center fielder Michael “Squints” Palledorous had the typical crush on the beautiful lifeguard, Wendy Peffercorn. Squints decides that he needs to make his move. So like any sane teenager, he fakes his own drowning so Wendy has to give him mouth to mouth. When she goes for another mouth to mouth, Squints wraps his arms around her head and forces the two into a kiss. Ultimately, Squints gets thrown out of the pool, banned for the summer, but still gets a smile and wave from Wendy. The funniest part is that he ends up marrying the lifeguard. This is one of the scenes you can’t help but watch and just laugh at everytime.

That’s all I’m giving you. This is a movie you really need to watch to understand the mystique of it all. There’s so much more, but that would be no fun. Matter of fact, I might even go watch it today when I get done writing this and doing my daily activities.
