UFC Fight Night Nebraska: Iaquinta Out OF Main Event, In Steps James Vick

UFC Fight Night Nebraska is set to take place September 8th 2018. The original headliner was supposed to be a matchup between Al Iaquinta and Justin Gaethje. Gaethje is coming off a round 4 TKO loss against Dustin Poirier. The fight was very entertaining, and Gaethje did a lot of damage to the legs of Dustin Poirier. Its guaranteed madness every single time Justin Gaethje steps foot inside the octagon. He’s had three fights in the UFC so far, and all three have kept fight fans on the edge of their seats. Al Iaquinta is coming of a decision loss to Khabib at UFC 223.   Iaquinta took the fight against Khabib on 1 days notice and managed to survive till the 5th round. Even though he didn’t win this put Al Iaquinta on the radar of a lot of UFC fans. We’ve seen Iaquinta turn in spectacular knockouts over guys like Diego Sanchez and Joe Lauzon.

For Iaquinta this fight was suppose to help him move up from the number 10 spot in the lightweight rankings. Unfortunately due to personal reasons Iaquinta said he will not be fighting and pulled out of the fight. Iaquinta made this announcement right before tickets went on sale. This left the UFC scrambling to find a replacement. Eventually they found one and his name is James Vick. James Vick is 6,3 tall and he towers over every lightweight in the division. Vick has looked impressive in his last couple fights, most notably beating Joe Duffy at UFC 217 via TKO. Vick has called for a high ranked opponent for quite sometime now. He seized the opportunity and took this fight against Gaethje. Vick could be an even bigger problem for Gaethje because of his size. No Matter what Gaethje always comes into the octagon and puts on a show regardless of his opponent, so we should expect nothing but chaos at UFC Fight Night Nebraska.
