Top Line Finally Flexed Their Muscles in Game 1

After a very lackluster Round Robin play, The “Perfection Line” of Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, and David Pastrnak finally showed up strong in Game 1 Wednesday afternoon. All three members of the top line had two points, coming off of great passing plays.

Yes, the Round Robin games were practically meaningless, but there was some cause for concern with the general dysfunction seeming to be prevalent throughout the team, including the team’s top line. After the team’s Round Robin finale last Sunday, Brad Marchand bluntly stated “Those were preseason games. Let’s call it what it is.”

The B’s were down 1-0 late in the first when Brad Marchand found David Pastrnak off of a faceoff win by Patrice Bergeron. It’s truly special witnessing their chemistry and ability to make big plays out of nowhere.

Several hours after that goal, the B’s found themselves in double OT, tied at 3 a piece. Once again, a phenomenal passing play led to the game winner by non other than Patrice Bergeron. The guy is so clutch and is getting better year after year, even as he ages into his mid thirties.
It’s no secret that they are the key cog to this Bruins team, and Bruins Nation across North America breathed a HUGE sigh of relief after watching them light the lamp, and make great plays.

GAME 2

It’s no secret that they are the key cog to this Bruins team. Can the B’s grab a 2-0 lead, or will Carolina draw even? Head Coach Bruce Cassidy has yet to reveal whether the team goes back to Tuukka Rask, or gives Jaroslav Halak the nod as the team is playing a back to back.
They will need to shut down the dynamic top line of the Hurricanes featuring Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen, and Andrei Svechnikov. That line is probably the 2nd or 3rd best top line in the NHL. Svechnikov, who has scored two Lacrosse-style goals in the 2019-20 regular season ALMOST pulled it off in OT. The skill is always present, so the B’s cannot let the pressure up in any zone.

Prediction

The B’s will prevail in another close, exciting game. The line of DeBrusk-Krejci-Kase will continue to play well, and I’m predicting Kase will net the game winning goal, with them winning, 4-2.
