Top 3 Landing Spots For Deshaun Watson

There is no secret about Watson and his anger towards the Houston Texans organization. It probably doesn’t help make that any easier for the Texans given previous players have added onto it. Oh yes, the likes of Andre Johnson and Hopkins have made it clear that for Watson, it is time to get the hell out of Houston while he still can.

So with this in mind, I am here to share with you the top 3 possible landing spots for Deshaun Watson for the 2021 season.

Top 3 Landing Spots

San Francisco 49ers

49ers must watch Deshaun Watson potential trade request from Texans

At this point, there is no question that the 49ers are likely to end their relationship with Garoppolo and let him go via trade. With that said, it is possible that Jimmy Garoppolo comes back to New England as many reports are hinting it too.

One thing the 49ers have going for themselves is that there no one that draws QB’s who want to win, more towards certain teams, that Kyle Shanahan.

The only problem for the 49ers though is they don’t have any additional throw-ins for an offer to Houston, as their top picks for 2021 and 2022 is all they have.

Miami Dolphins

Texans rumors: Deshaun Watson would consider Dolphins trade

Here is one I find intriguing yet cold-blooded.

Miami was able to pick up Tua Tagovailoa in the 2020 NFL Draft, fast-forward to the end of the season and some in Miami believe that Tua’s time there is done and over with as he was nowhere close to what they thought he’d be. Miami would basically sacrifice multiple 1st-round picks and send Tua to Houston to deal with the hell hole that Watson is dealing with now.

In this case, Miami has a decent list of candidates for an offensive coordinator to replace Chan Gailey going in their favor. The flip side of that for Miami is their cap space! Even if they trade for Tua and the many first round picks, Miami still needs to clear out their locker room a bit. Oh! And Miami still needs some work in the wide-receiver department.

New England Patriots

Caserio calling Belichick to acquire whatever prospects he worked on for New England so that the patriots could get Watson? That in itself worries me. However, Bill has nothing to lose here!

A trade involving N’Keal Harry, Jarrett Stidham, 1st and 2nd round pick all for Deshaun Watson. Honestly, why not! Cap space currently for the Patriots is a massive blessing in disguise and highly unusual for Bill Belichick.

All Bill would need to do, should he get Watson, is go after a top WR. I don’t see why not go after a Juju Smith Schuster, heck even Allen Robinson II! Also, plenty of players coming back to the team after opting out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19. Bill literally has nothing to lose here!

It Is All Up To Watson

We can speculate as much as we want about where Watson could land. Ultimately, it really just comes down to him.

Deshaun has been very vocal about his anger towards the Texans, and now with an unhappy JJ Watt as well, it surely isn’t questionable that he would leave the Texans.

One does have to think of his talent though and his desire for wanting to go for a Super Bowl title or even a deep playoff run. I think if I was Deshaun Watson, I would want to go to a team with youth and prospective in it or a team with a coach who knows what he wants and can get his team behind that objective.
