Three Up for Week 2 Fantasy Football

The NFL season is officially underway and we had plenty of fantasy superstars. Alvin Kamara, Tyreek Hill, and (the one everyone predicted) Ryan Fitzpatrick all put up monster numbers. Can they repeat what they did in week 1? It is going to be hard to do, but there are a other guys that are poised to go-off in their second regular season game.

DeAndre Hopkins WR, Houston Texans: Wow! Call the hot take police! Joking aside, Hopkins looks ready to have a monster week. The Patriots defense is better than what the Titans have and he still managed eight catches for 78 yards. Then you look at what Kenny Stills did to Malcolm Butler and co. down in Miami, I’d be shocked if Hopkins doesn’t go for 100+ and at least 1 touchdown.

Royce Freeman RB, Denver Broncos:  After week 1, the Phillip Lindsay hype-train became filled with passengers. He made people forget who the starter was: Royce Freeman the Broncos’ 2018 third round pick.

Lindsay did perform well and could have a major role going forward, but the matchup with the Oakland Raiders makes Freeman the man this week. If / when the Broncos get up on the Raiders, they will just start running down the clock. Head Coach Vance Joseph will hand the rock off over and over to wear down the Raiders defense, hopefully improving their team to 2-0.

NOTE: Freeman has a very low draft price in daily fantasy contests: could be worth a shot.

Matt Breida RB, San Francisco 49ers: Things didn’t really work out for the 49ers in their week 1 loss at Minnesota. The silver lining, for me at least, was the play of Matt Breida. He had a 4.2 yard per carry against the stout Vikings defense.

I like Brieda this week because of the matchup mostly. If he did that against the Vikings, there is no way he does nothing against the Lions who just let up 169 rushing yards to the Jets. Add on to the fact that veteran Al Morris only averaged 3.2 on the ground while also coughing up the ball one time, Breida could be ready to take a bigger role despite splitting carries with the former Redskin in week 1.
