This Celtics Run Has Been Simply Amazing
The Boston Celtics have now rattled off 15 wins a row, and it has been simply magical to watch. They have won these games in all sorts of ways, against all kinds of teams who do different things well. With this streak they have really set themselves up for success later in the season.
So I guess I really just wanted to get my chance to talk just a minute about how amazing this run has really been. After starting off 0-2, and Gordon Hayward suffering an expected season ending injury. Talk about an emotional time as a Celtics fan, from the despair of Gordon’s injury and the season being called a wash, to 15 wins in a row.
They have gotten contributions from up and down the roster. The guys who we weren’t sure of before the season started have been really solid, giving the Celtics a much better “depth” then we thought originally. A guy like Aaron Baynes, who I thought would be Amir Johnson part 2 and boy was I wrong. He’s been the big guy presence that they needed and even in the small ball NBA, sometimes you need a big guy to throw in there and really muck things up. Another guy who has been much better as of late is Marcus Morris, he has really come in after missing the first few games of the season. He’s brought a guy who does a little bit of everything, somebody who can get them a bucket when they need it no mater when it is in the game with that mid range jumper he loves. He is another solid defender and rebounder to through in the mix, having all this athleticism has proven to make them a significantly better rebounding and defensive team.
Then we have the top of the roster talent. What more can is their to say about these guys. Start with the “kids”, Jayson Tatum and Jaylon Brown have proven to be way ahead of schedule. The jump that they have made has been a main reason they have been able to win at such high level. They weren’t suppose to be this good this early, well at least none of us expected it. Al Horford is finally showing why he was a max player last summer. He is really been dominate and looks so much more comfortable in Brads system, him and Kyrie have just meshed seamlessly.
Then we have the “superstar”, the straw the stirs the drink. Kyrie Irving has been everything I could have ever imagined, and he isn’t even scoring the way we have all seen him score over the years. The transition has been so smooth, he is doing everything Brad wants him to do and boy its fun to watch. He is the clear-cut leader of this team and has embraced the roll to the fullest, he is only gonna get better, this team is only gonna get better.
I cant wait to see whats in store for this team, I believe they have only scratched the surface of what they could be. Its going to be a lot of fun watching this team come playoff time, who knows how far they can go.
