The Rafters Pod Ep. 119: Celtics Gentlemen Swept Miami
The Boston Celtics gentlemens swept Miami after stumbling in Game 2 giving up a historic shooting night. A series that should have been a sweep ends in a 5-1 victory. The next series is still up in the air against either the Cleveland Cavaliers or the Orlando Magic. Connor and Liam both express their preferences on an opponent. Should Celtics fans be concerned about the one terrible loss to Miami? Is Boston’s star player struggling or playing good team basketball?
In the late stages of the Miami Heat series, Kristaps Porzingis went down with a calf injury. Even though the Celtics gentlemen swept Miami, Boston lost. They lost arguably the most important player to their dominating offense. The big mans three point and post scoring has been wildly efficient. Without that and his rim protection, Boston is significantly less imposing. The Celtics are likely without him for the next series. That will leave Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and the bench big men to carry a bigger load.
Jayson Tatum finished Game 1 with a triple double to dress up his stats nicer than they actually were for the series. Tatum’s shot selection has always been in question and the criticism continues. The adorned star looks like he tries to take over games but falls flat putting up inefficient shots while Derrick White takes over whole games to lead Boston to victory.
Tune into this week of The Rafters Pod to hear a recap of how the Celtics gentlemen swept Miami.
