The Rafters Pod Ep. 102: Run It Back

The Boston Celtics saw an opportunity to run it back, and this time win a championship. A dynamic trade brought Malcolm Brogdon over from Indiana, followed by the signing of sharpshooting forward, Danilo Gallinari. Brogdon and Gallo come to the Bay State looking to fill needs left from last year and rescue their chances at a NBA championship.

Former Rookie of the Year, Malcolm Brogdon has emerged as a star his last few years for the Pacers. They look to build around young stud Tyrese Haliburton, making Brogdon expendable. Gallo comes in fresh of being cut from San Antonio’s roster. The 33 year old stretch big has seen better days, but can still provide consistent shooting and offensive prowess in his twilight years. Both guys come onto this Celtics team looking to be a source of instant offense for those cold stretches. Something that plagued them in the NBA finals leading to a loss in 6 games.

With the Celtics loaded up and ready to run it back is no easy task. Many teams improved this summer and look to make strides towards a coveted title. Building a perfect team starts at the bottom of the roster though. The Summer League is in full stride. Young players are showcasing their skills in hopes of making a teams permanent roster. Justin gives fans the scoop on players to keep an eye on this summer in Vegas. Some of these names Juhann Begarin, Trevion Williams, Brodric Thomas, and a familiar face in Sam Hauser. These guys along with second round rookie JD Davidson from Bama, look to give Boston early success by winning a summer league championship.
