The Office Fans Rejoice: There’s Finally a Podcast For You!
The Office viewers all over the world have something new to spice up their viewing of the show. A few months ago, stars of the show, Jenna Fischer (Pam Beasley) and Angela Kinsey (Angela Martin), announced that they would be starting a podcast where they would go back and talk about every single episode of the show in each podcast. The first two episodes are now available online and they do not disappoint.
While it’s obvious that Fischer and Kinsey are still finding their footing when it comes to doing a podcast, it’s hard to deny that the information they bring to it is something that not very many people could. Not only do they strive to give analysis of the scenes, they also offer fun behind the scenes stories about the actors, writers and crew that were not discussed before. Sometimes the commentary is a bit stiff and obviously rehearsed but it may be due to the fact that neither host has ever done something like this before. There is a lot of hope that they will only get better as time goes by.
This is certainly not the first podcast to dissect each individual episode of a beloved television show. One that was very popular a few years ago was the Gilmore Guys where two men went through episodes of the Gilmore Girls. While the podcast was successful and got many fans of the show listening to it, The Office Ladies have one thing that they didn’t: stars of the actual show.
It’s recommended that if listening to the podcast, you follow along by watching an episode a week to correspond with the one that they will be discussing. Now, I know it will be hard to only watch one a week considering how many people binge watch this show on a regular basis, but it is totally worth it to follow along. You may begin to notice things you hadn’t before even if you have seen the show many times before.
The Office Ladies podcast releases a new episode every Wednesday and is available on Apple Podcasts and Stitcher. It is also teased that next week’s episode will have a special guest. Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute”) will be joining them to talk about Season 1, Episode 3: Health Care.
