The #Eagles are expected to let Jason Peters hit the free agent market, sources say. After 11 years with the team, the nine-time Pro Bowl selection could be headed elsewhere, though the parties will remain in contact.— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) March 5, 2020
Howie Roseman did say he was going to make this team get younger and let some of the older veterans go but man this sucks. I mean it’s the right move don’t get me wrong. Peters has visibly lost a step and is hurt all of the time. The most surprising part of this story is that he’s going to be a free agent and not just retire. I say this because I love you man just hang them up while you can still walk.
But this is not a bashing Jason Peters blog. He was a beast for a decade in midnight green. Single handedly eliminating the best pass rushers in the NFL left and right. Going to nine Pro Bowl and earning six NFL All Pro honors. He is a no doubt Hall of Famer and was a one man wrecking crew. Just a unit with beautiful braids and a luscious beard bullying grown men on national television. I mean look at this block

There’s now going to be a lot of pressure on Andre Dillard. The Eagles traded up to draft him as Peters obvious successor but it won’t be easy to fill his Hall of Fame shoes. Peters was truly the man among men. A great leader, a great player, and a Philly legend. So long old friend.
P.S. Remember when Lane Johnson carried his jersey out at the Super Bowl like he died or something? That was weird.
