The Daily (1/18/21)
Welcome back to another edition of the daily. It has been rough as of late for your boy, but it is a new week and I can smell a big bounce back week incoming. We got a great slate of games to watch on MLK day. Action takes place mainly on the hardwood, but we also have some action on the ice as well. With that being said here are my daily picks for today.
NBA:
Milwaukee vs Brooklyn
The Milwaukee Bucks are on the road tonight taking on the Brooklyn Nets. Milwaukee has won their last four games and will look to make it five in a row tonight against Kevin Durant, James Harden and the Brooklyn Nets tonight. Brooklyn on the other hand has won three straight games and looked unreal in Harden’s first game with the team. If Kyrie is available to play tonight the line would move in Brooklyn’s favor. As of right now the line show Milwaukee as a 2.5 point favorite.
Giannis and company are looking to set the tone for the Eastern Conference with a win tonight. While Brooklyn will be trying to make a statement saying that we are here, and it is our time. The matchup of Harden and Durant going up against Middleton and Giannis is going to be a must watch game tonight. I am leaning towards the duo of Harden and Durant personally. Giannis will get his tonight no doubt about it, but there is no way that they win in Brooklyn tonight.
Picks: Nets ML (1u/1.2u), Giannis Under 10.5 REBS (1u/1.1u)
Other NBA Picks:
Minnesota +7 (1.1u/1u)
Portland ML (2u/2.14u) LOCK
Memphis +5.5 (1.1u/1u)
CBB:
Kansas vs Baylor
The Kansas Jayhawks are on the road tonight against the number two team in the country Baylor. This game has high stakes for the Big 12 as two of the best teams in the conference are clashing. The battle of the titans in the Big 12 will definitely be on display tonight. However the line doesn’t do how good this game will be justice. Baylor is a 9 point favorite over the Jayhawks and I am confused. Baylor came over their lowest winning margin in their last game against Texas Tech. While Kansas is coming off of a loss to Oklahoma State as it seemed that they were looking ahead to this game.
Baylor’s team is very talented all-around, and they will win this game. Do they keep it inside of the number though? That is the question that I am going to answer right now. I don’t think they will be able to beat Kansas by double digits. Kansas has a solid enough squad that they will keep it within the number on this one.
Picks: Kansas +9 (1.1u/1u), Under 140.5 (1.07u/1u)
Other CBB Picks:
Florida State ML (1u/1.3u)
Prairie View A&M -5 (1.12u/1u)
NHL:
Winnipeg vs Toronto
What a game we have on the NHL schedule tonight as we have the Winnipeg Jets going up against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Toronto is 2-1 in their first three games and Winnipeg is 1-0 so far this season with their only win coming against Calgary so far. Toronto has a slight advantage in this one offensively, especially with the question mark being if Patrik Laine is playing in today’s game. In my opinion we got two teams that will be in the top five of highest scoring teams this season going at it tonight.
The goalie matchup is also a big time matchup. As we have Frederik Andersen from the Maple Leafs going up against the reigning Vezina winner in Connor Hellebuyck for the Jets. This game will be a high scoring affair with one winner tonight. That one winner will be as followed.
Pick: Toronto (1.62u/1u)
Other NHL Picks:
Bruins (1.32u/1u)
Carolina (1.24u/1u)
Over 5.5 (Arizona Vegas) (1.22u/1u)
