The Daily (1/16/21)

Welcome back to another edition of The Daily. We have a jam packed Saturday slate of games for you today. From the NFL Divisional Round, to action on the hardwood in the NBA and College Basketball to go along with some action on the ice in the NHL. There is a huge day incoming today for your boy. With that being said here are my daily picks for today’s humongous slate of games.

NFL: 

Baltimore vs Buffalo 

The Baltimore Ravens are taking their six game winning streak into Buffalo to take on the Bills who are riding a seven game winning streak. Buffalo is a 2.5 point favorite and we are going to take a look at this game as a whole. Starting with the Bills who’s offense has gone haywire this entire year. Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs have become one of the more exciting duos in the league. The issue I have with the Bills is their defense. Going up against a speedy Baltimore offense has worries for me. In the Bills three losses this season they have lost to quarter backs that are able to use their legs to get out of a tough situation. This Ravens offense is based on Lamar’s athleticism how will Buffalo be able to contain that.

Don’t get me wrong the Bills offense is going to put up some points today, but I see the defense letting them down big time. Last time when it came to a Buffalo Bills playoff game I had a stat going against them and this time I have a stat going for them. In their last four divisional round home games the Bills are 4-0 in those games. Real quick take about Baltimore’s offense is this; this offense will put up points and has the ability to keep Josh Allen and that offense off of the field. We are going to get 1/2 of a AFC Championship game that we expected to get last year after this one is all said and done.

Vancouver vs Calgary

The Vancouver Canucks are on the road at Calgary tonight. Vancouver split their first two games with Edmonton to start off the season, while Calgary lost in overtime to Winnipeg in their only game of the season so far. Calgary is the favorite in this one, and rightfully so in my opinion. The Flames to me are the better hockey team, and that defense will look a lot better in the second and third period tonight. I do like the goalie matchup as well, as it looks like we are going to get Braden Holtby taking on Jacob Markstrom (a former Vancouver goaltender). This game looks like it will be a Markstrom revenge game tonight so my pick goes as followed.
