The Daily (1/14/21)
Welcome back to another edition of the daily. Today we have a slate of games on the ice, and on the hardwood that we are picking from today. NHL started last night and we went 3-1 in non prop NHL plays. Looking to ride that momentum tonight and I am hoping my luck will turn around on the hardwood. The NBA hasn’t been to kind to myself as of late, and I had my first negative day in College Basketball in about a week. With that being said here are my daily picks.
NHL:
New York Islanders vs New York Rangers
The New York Islanders are on the road taking on the New York Rangers tonight. The Islanders are coming off their deepest playoff run since the 1992-1993 season. Beating Florida in the qualifying round before beating the Capitals in the first round, and Philadelphia in the second round. New York seemed to overachieve in some people’s minds last season. They are a good hockey team, but this time around will they be able to be as good as they were if they were to make the playoffs. Also they are playing in a very tough division this year due to Covid-19.
The Rangers are also in that division and if I were a Rangers fan I would be excited about this season. Last year the Rangers lost the qualifying round 3-0 to the Carolina Hurricanes a season ago. They won the draft lottery and drafted Alexis Lafreniere with the number one overall pick. He is going to be a big time factor for this Rangers offense. They were already loaded with Artemi Panarin, Mika Zibanejad, Kappo Kakko, Chris Kreider, and others. With that being said my pick for tonight is as followed.
Pick: New York ….. Rangers (2.1u/2u)
Other NHL Plays:
Bruins -1.5 (1u/1.38u)
Capitals (1.25u/1u)
Columbus (1u/1.05u)
CBB:
Stanford ML (2.28u/2u)
Santa Clara -3 (1.12u/1u)
Over 129 (Purdue Indiana) (1.13u/1u)
Eastern Washington -5.5 (1.1u/1u)
NBA:
Golden State vs Denver
Golden State is on the road at Denver tonight. The Warriors will be looking to avoid going .500 tonight as they walk into Denver tonight. Golden State will have their hands full tonight with covering Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Denver will look get up to .500 after a slow start. Murray is finally getting his legs under him, and Jokic is arguably the best big in the league. Jamal Murray and Stephen Curry’s matchup tonight is going to be a must watch as both of them is going to attack one another the entire game.
The Nuggets are 5 point favorites tonight and this game could easily go either way. Denver could easily win this game outright, but covering could be another thing. So instead of taking the line for Golden State, I am going to do this instead.
Pick: Over 225.5 (1.12u/1u)
Other NBA Plays:
Charlotte ML (1u/2.95u)
