The Celtics are BACK

Tonight is the night ladies and gents, the Celtics are officially BACK. This summer was arguably the most entertaining ever, but it feels good to be getting back to playing basketball games.

As we all know, the Celtics completely flipped their roster upsidedown this offseason, bringing back just four players from last years Eastern Conference Finals team. Why would they do that? Because they got torched by a team who went on to lose in five games in the Finals. That roster was nowhere near a contender, it was time to re-build from the ground up.

Exit IT, Avery Bradley, and Jae Crowder. It’ll be sad to see them go, but it was for the better for them in the long run. Enter Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward, and Jayson Tatum. You now have one of the youngest and more exciting core group of guys to build a team around. These guys should dominate the better part of the Eastern Conference once they get it going.

In their first game, the Celtics will be in Cleveland to play what might be their most highly anticipated season opener since Ray Allen made his debut with the Heat. Kyrie Irving, who begged his way out of Cleveland, is making his return. LeBron vs. the Celtics has always been a rivalry, but the acquisition of Kyrie has intensified that ten fold. We all know there is some sort of animosity between the two, even though they say there isn’t. If Isaiah Thomas were playing this would be a lock for most drama filled game of the season, but we’ll save that for when he makes his return.

Tonight is the begining of a new team with an extremely bright future, and I am HYPED. 8:00 can’t get here soon enough. My final predicitons for the season are below:

Predictions

Record: 55-27, 1st in the East

Where they finish: Eastern Conference Finals
