Fantasy Football: Week 6 Studs and Duds

Studs

kirk-cousins-washington-redskins

Kirk Cousins, QB Washington Redskins: Cousins has started off slow this year, but he seems to be picking up right where he left off at the end of last season.  After putting up more than 20 points in his last three games, expect Cousins to put up 20+ week in and week out aside from your unusual fluke. Now if only he could start utilizing Terrelle Pryor more…

peterson-adrian

Adrian Peterson, RB Arizona Cardinals: Wow, I guess All Day was right to complain about not getting the touches with the Saints.  Peterson took his 26 carries for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns in his first game with the Cardinals.  Will he do it again? Who knows, but I’m betting on the former superstar putting up similar numbers next week.

antonio brown

Antonio Brown, WR Pittsburgh Steelers: This one really isn’t a surprise.  Even with Big Ben talking like he might have lost it, you can clearly see he can still get the ball to Brown.  I was looking for a good shot of his one handed deflection catch that he brought to the house and couldn’t find it, and because of that I recommend everyone look up a video of it.

Evan Engram, TE New York Giants: With every Giants receiver under the sun out with an ankle injury Engram took advantage.  He mustered up 5 catches 82 yards and a touchdown on 7 targets in the win over Denver.  Expect Engram to be Eli’s go to target in the future.

Duds

Carr

Derek Carr, QB Oakland Raiders: I don’t know what else I can say about Carr other than I don’t think he is a legitimate fantasy starter anymore.  That is until he can get healthy and the Raiders offense can figure out what is going on.

C.J. Anderson

C.J. Anderson, RB Denver Broncos: Anderson has been spotty this season and I kind of expected him to flop this week.  He’s a high risk/ high reward player every week, as you can see from the 1.7 points he put up this week in comparison to the 27 he put up in week 2.

NFL: New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings

Michael Thomas, WR New Orleans Saints: What puzzles me with this one is how in the world a team with Drew Brees can score 52 points and his #1 receiver catches 3 balls for 11 yards.  This week was an outlier and I believe Thomas will get back on track next week against Green Bay.

Reed

Jordan Reed, WR Washington Redskins: Reed has had a couple mediocre weeks and this one wasn’t much different.  I believe with Kirk Cousins getting into the groove of things, he finds his reliable TE more often than not and Reed’s fantasy production will boost.
