The Boston Bruins’ Season Has Come Down To One Game

It’s crazy to think that on Wednesday, the Boston Bruins will be going into Game 7 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

This team has overcome a lot over the last few months. It doesn’t even seem like this is the same team we were blogging about back in November — the team that couldn’t string together consecutive wins and the team that had a (good) goalie problem before Tuukka Rask decided to play his tail off.

And here we are. Game 7. The entire season comes down to this one game.

I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with Game 7’s. The adrenaline and excitement that comes with them is like no other — but so is the anxiety and frustration.

But regardless of what happens tomorrow, this Boston Bruins team is special … and will be for years to come. There’s talent for years in Charlie McAvoy, Jake DeBrusk, Danton Heinen and Matt Grzelcyk.

Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand seem to get better with age, as does Zdeno Chara. David Pastrnak is going to develop into an even better hockey player. I’m telling you, this team is only going to get better.

This Bruins team has played with my emotions a lot this season. They’ve put me through some lows but even more highs. And it’s crazy to think everything this team has been through and had to overcome injury-wise throughout the season and they finished as the second-best team in the Atlantic Division.

In what was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the B’s has become a year that they’ve blown away a lot of expectations. This was supposed to be a year of frustrations and pulling your hair out of your head. The season still had those moments, but if anything, there were more moments of screaming out of enjoyment.

So regardless of what happens in Game 7, Bruins fans can take solace in knowing that this team is going to be fun for years to come. We are going to be able to watch Ryan Donato and McAvoy bloom into elite players. We are going to be able to watch the world of Twitter freak out over anything Brad Marchand does.

But most of all, we are going to be able to watch this team succeed.

So sit back, relax as much as you can, and prepare for Game 7. We all remember the last time there was a Game 7 between these two teams, right?
