The 2019 Celtics Postseason Clover Report: Week 26

The NBA playoffs are here and the road to Banner 18 begins for the Boston Celtics. As the four seed, they began their series with the 5th seed Indiana Pacers. The Celtics won the regular season series 3-1 against Indy.

Before the series started, Marcus Smart was ruled out for a month and a half after suffering a torn oblique. The best situation, he’s back in the late second round. But the Pacers came first. It was a, sloppy, “grind it out” game but the Celtics took Game 1 84-74. Marcus Morris, who came off of the bench, dropped 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in the win. This game showed that without Victor Oladipo, the Pacers have a hard time scoring.

Going into Game 2, the Celtics had a real chance to take control of this series. Kyrie made sure of that. The Pacers held a 79-68 lead going into the 4th. But the Celtics still won 99-91 to go up 2-0 in the series.

Irving went off for 37 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists and took the game over in the 4th quarter. The Celtics waited two years for “Playoff Kyrie” and it was great to see. The Celtics are in a great spot but they can’t let up now. They have to bury Indiana fast so they can get ready for the Bucks. This series isn’t over, but the Celtics could do just that on Friday.
