Summer Transfer Window Predictions
With each league ending their 2020-2021 campaign, it is finally time to look ahead to the Summer Transfer window. This transfer window might be the biggest in the history of the game of soccer. Since the pandemic, this is the first time that we will see the true chaos of the transfer window in well over a year. This summer is shaping up to be a crazy summer as there are many names that will be available. I am here today to talk to you about a few, and with that being said here are some of my summer transfer window predictions.
Honorable Mentions:
Antoine Griezmann: Borussia Dortmund
Philippe Countiho: Inter Milan
Kalidou Koulibaly: Everton
Kingsley Coman: Manchester United
Hugo Lloris: PSG
Raphael Varane
The 28 year old french defender has had his name in the news recently. A lot of speculation leads to believe that he could be out of Real Madrid next season. Teams that are interested at the moment are as followed (Man United, Chelsea, PSG). Varane is a highly talented center back that can change the complexion of any game. He is very talented and can easily help any top team that is looking at an upgrade at center back. Better yet he wouldn’t cost as much as the majority of the names that you hear being thrown around. This is a huge get for any team that gets lucky enough to acquire him this summer.
Prediction: Varane ends up at Manchester United
Sergio Ramos
Sergio Ramos went from being a Real Madrid star that wants out to one of the stars from Real Madrid that wants out. The 35 year old got left out of Spain’s Euro roster, and is looking to get back to his winning ways next season for a new club. Clubs that are interested at the moment are (PSG, Chelsea, Manchester United). With United getting Varane, I think that takes them out of this equation. This best fit for Ramos is a team that needs him to contribute, but doesn’t need him to be the best defender on the pitch for them.
Prediction: Ramos ends up at PSG
Paulo Dybala
Paulo Dybala has been quoted to being on the move since the beginning of last season. Dybala had a mediocre 2020-2021 campaign, but he could easily flourish at any other spot in my opinion. The 27 year old Argentinan can be a top scorer in the game next season with the right fit. Where is this quote on quote right fit you ask. It needs to be a team that is constructed in which their wingers can flourish. Or if they can fit him in his a center attacking midfielder as well. I have one team in my mind that he would be lights out for next season.
Prediction: Dybala plays for Barcelona next season
Jack Grealish
Boy did Jack Grealish arrive onto the scene last season. Grealish led Aston Villa back into the relevant part of the table. The 25 year old winger is one of the best young players in England at the moment. Grealish’s club growing up was Aston Villa and playing for them is a dream come true. Would he leave Villa to go to a bigger club in England? Only time will tell, but depending on what he wants to do he could have a giant bag of money waiting for him at another club.
Prediction: Grealish stays put at Aston Villa
Jan Oblak
Jan Oblak is hands down one of the best if not the best goaltender in the world right now. The 28 year old Slovenian goalkeeper has been a staple for that Atletico Madrid team since he became their goalie. Now after winning a La Liga title, is he onto bigger things? I would assume that there are several teams in England that would love to have him be their netminder. Teams that could make this move and afford him are Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham. I think it would come down to any of these four teams in the Premier League.
Prediction: Oblak ends up being Chelsea’s new goaltender
Erling Haaland
Erling Haaland is an elite goal scorer, and is wanted by so many clubs this summer. The 20 year old Norwegian striker is one of the more sought after goal scorers we have seen in a while. Rumors of teams like Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and others wanting to bring Haaland in this summer is ridiculous. The list gets bigger every time I see it and it should rightfully so. Haaland has a big decision to make, but what team sways him to come play for them.
Prediction: Halaand becomes the new face of Real Madrid
Harry Kane
Harry Kane has been very public about what his decision was going to be this summer. Tottenham again failed to qualify for the Champions League so he is definitely on his way out of Tottenham. Where does he go though is going to be the question of the summer. I do think he is staying in England though which would be a huge blow to any Tottenham fan out there. Kane is a must get for anybody as he is 27 years old, in the prime of his career and is hungry to win badly. With that being said my prediction on where he goes is easy.
Prediction: Harry Kane goes to Manchester…… City
Kylian Mbappe
Kylian Mbappe is still in my opinion the best player under 25 in the world today. The 22 year old french striker has been elite in his time as a professional so far. Mbappe has been a key piece to a PSG squad, but I do think he will be onto bigger and better things. He is hands down the best PSG player ever to play there. Is he onto bigger and better things? I do think we will see Mbappe elsewhere next season. I am getting my hopes up really high here with my prediction on where he goes this summer.
Prediction: Mbappe ends up in Anfield to be Liverpool’s next striker
