Start ’em Sit ’em: Week 5

Well last Fantasy Week I told you guys to start Chris Carson who ended up being inactive.  However, if he did play, I bet he would have gotten the 25 touches for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns that Mike Davis got.  But enough about that, week 4 is in the books so lets move onto week 5’s start ’em sit ’em!

Fantasy Start ’em

Quarterback

Matt Ryan @ Pit– Since only scoring 8.8 fantasy points in week 1, Ryan has went on to score 30.7, 40.2, and 29.3 points.  As the hottest fantasy QB not named Patrick Mahomes, he gets the Steelers defense who is allowing the 3rd most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.  In a game that I bet is a shootout, gimme Matty Ice.

Running Back

Joe Mixon/Giovani Bernard vs. Mia–  Mixon should be back from his injury, but if he’s not Bernard should have a good game.  Going against a Miami defense that is allowing the 3rd most fantasy points to opposing running backs, gimme the Bengals backfield.

Wide Receiver

Keenan Allen vs. Oak– Allen hasn’t seen the end zone since week one but I think this week against the raiders that changes.  The Raiders are allowing the 4th most fantasy points to wide receivers and they just allowed 42 points to the Baker Mayfield led browns.  I think this is a high scoring game and Allen finds the end zone.

Tight End

Austin Seferian-Jenkins @ KC –  Seferian-Jenkins has had a rough start to the year, but I think he can turn it around against a KC defense who has allowed the 4th most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this year.

Fantasy Sit ’em

Quarterback

Russell Wilson vs. LAR–  Wilson usually starts the season slow and boy is he really taking his time this year.  Last week with only 9 fantasy points, and this week Seattle’s o line has to keep Aaron Donald AND Ndamukong Suh off him?  Yeah I’m staying away from him this week.

Running Back

Carlos Hyde vs Bal– Hyde has been solid the last couple weeks but with Nick Chubb possibly taking carries away, and a tough matchup, I think he has a down week.  Chubb carried the ball 3 times for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns, if that doesn’t merit more touches, I don’t know what will.  Also the Ravens have only allowed 1 rushing touchdown this year, and they only allowed 19 yards last week against the Steelers.

Wide Receiver

Devin Funchess vs NYG– Coming off a bye you would usually want to start certain players because they had 2 weeks to devise a game plan.  I don’t think that’s the case with Funchess.  The Giants are allowing the least fantasy points to opposing wide receivers this year and the Panthers don’t usually feature their receivers in their game plans anyway.  Funchess is on my bench this week.

Tight End

Eric Ebron @ NE–  With Doyle possibly coming back, and the Patriots allowing the least amount of fantasy points Ebron isn’t exactly slated for a good week.
