This weeks PGA event is the second leg of the the FedEx Standings. After this, the field will be compressed to the top 30 golfers. This week we see some of golfs biggest names take on Olympia Fields in Chicago for the BMW Championship and let me tell you, this course is eating them alive.
On the 5th hole during his third round, @JonRahmPGA incurred a one-shot penalty after forgetting to mark his ball on the green and picking it up. 🔊⬆️
That hole would be the only bogey in the lowest round of the week as Rahm went on to shoot a 4-under 66. pic.twitter.com/CXzwKk4nzG

I love when courses give the pros a tough time. It’s a humbling experience and it’s great to see that these guys are human and courses can kill them too. Currently we have a three way tie for first with DJ, Matt Hughes, and Matsuyama. But let’s not count out the people who are +1 or +2 because tomorrow anything can happen.
The Main Point
But the point I’m writing this blog for, is if Olympia Fields should be considered for a major event. This course has US Open hardness written all over it and we can tell from the scores alone. Not to mention that the venue is really nice too. It’s located in Chicago and has two courses: the North and South course. I’m not sure what the PGA rules are but why not have the players flip between the North and South courses after each day? I think that would keep the players on their toes and would give the fans something cool to watch.
Depending on how this ends tomorrow, it could have huge ramifications on which top 30 get in for next week. Their are some really good players who could miss the cut like Gary Woodland, Matt Wolff, Patrick Cantlay, Tiger, Jason Day and plenty of others.
