Cancel the NFL. Get rid of it. Hand the players some flags now and let’s just turn the sport into what it will eventually be.
How could you blame Clay Matthews for being upset with this roughing the passer call? There’s literally no argument for it. None. This ruined the best game of the NFL week. What else is Clay Matthews supposed to do on this tackle?
Matthews’ hit was absolutely squeaky clean and there was no penalty that should have been called. I don’t know if you were watching, but this completely altered the outcome of the game. If this interception stands and this egregious penalty wasn’t called, the game is over and the Packers walk away with a win in front of their home crowd.
If this penalty is called like this throughout the year, we are going to see NFL ratings drop even more, right? How’s he supposed to land? How’s he supposed to tackle? When you’re trying to make a tackle, you aren’t thinking about where to throw your body. What you’re doing is trying to make sure the quarterback goes to the ground with no chance to release the ball. If the league is going to prevent these players from doing their job, like I said, just bring out the flags because this is ridiculous.
