Ranking The Best Characters In The Marvel Cinematic Universe
Sup everyone, today we will be doing another movie list countdown. I haven’t done one of these in a while but with Thor: Ragnarok coming out on Friday, it’s time to do another. Today we will be ranking the best characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I will be ranking these characters on their impact and storyline on this film series, so I am not ranking these based comic book history. If I did that, Spider-Man would be the clear number one and he’s only made 2 appearances in this franchise. So let’s rank the best characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Honorable Mentions: Spider-Man, Peggy Carter, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, War Machine

10 Gamora: Gamora has had an amazing journey. After betraying her abusive father Thanos, Gamora teams up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and becomes a hero. She’s a gifted space assassin and a very sympathetic character. It will be amazing to watch her and the rest of the Avengers take on her father in Infinity War.
9 Nick Fury: While he’s always been a supporting character, Nick Fury’s impact on the MCU cannot be understated. After all, he’s the man who brought the Avengers together. Serving as a father figure for most of our heroes, Fury’s presence will be felt for a long time.
8 The Winter Solider: Bucky Barnes is the tragic figure of the MCU. Best friend of Steve Rogers, Barnes was presumed dead after falling off a bridge. But he survived and was captured by the Nazi agency Hydra. He was then brained washed, put on ice, and became the assassin known as the Winter Solider. He’s a very conflicted character as he’s been both a hero and a villain. No one else is quite like Bucky.

7 Star-Lord: What makes Peter Quill so likeable is his ability to laugh at himself and the situations he gets himself into. He’s been through a lot of rough times but his humor always gets through it. Now being the head of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Star-Lord has evolved into more of a leader; but is still able to keep his sense of humor.
6 Loki: As the only true villain to appear on the list, Loki is as cool as its gets. Not only was a formable foe against his adoptive brother Thor, he took on the Avengers and almost won. As the God of Miscief; Loki is smart, cunning, and always has something up his sleeve. He’s the definition of a villain we LOVE to hate.
5 Hulk: Hulk has had an interesting journey in the MCU to say the least. People tend to forget that he has had a solo outing with The Incredible Hulk starring Edward Norton as Bruce Banner. Marvel and Norton couldn’t come to a deal to reprise his role after that movie and he was recast with Mark Ruffalo. When Ruffalo took over, Hulk became more of a side character and that made him standout even more as this unstoppable force. I can’t wait to see Gladiator Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok.
4 Black Widow: Natasha Romanoff has been a fan favorite ever since her first appearance in the MCU. As a former Russian assassin, she has also gone on an incredible journey like so many other Avengers. But what makes her so relatable is that she has no true superhuman abilities. Despite that, she is still a total badass as a SHIELD agent and a super spy.

3 Thor: We have made to the Big 3 of the MCU. First off, we start with the man whose movie is coming out on Friday. Thor Odinson is the prince of Asgard and the God of Thunder. Unlike his fellow Avengers, Thor was born with power. As the protector of Earth, Thor has had his ups and downs but has shown what it takes to be a good man and a powerful god. We’ll see him again in theaters this Friday.
2 Iron Man: He’s the man who started it all and by far the most popular character in the MCU. He’s the one and only, Iron Man. Played to perfection by Robert Downey Jr., Tony Stark is the true star of the MCU. He’s the smartest, the cockiest, and by far the coolest character in this MCU. But what makes Tony Stark one of the best characters in the MCU is that he is not perfect. Despite his genius, he has made mistakes and he has paid for those mistakes. It shows that he’s human and it makes it sweeter when he overcomes his demons.
1 Captain America: While Tony Stark is the star of the MCU, Steve Rogers is the heart of the MCU. What makes Captain America so great is that he is the definition of a true hero. He is willing to put his life on line for the things he believes in and the people he loves. Steve has gone on an amazing character arch. He’s fought Nazi’s, the US government, and his fellow Avenger Iron Man. Despite all he’s been through, Captain America has remained the same; a good man. That’s why he’s the best character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
