Patriots Fullback Danny Vitale is a Beast On and Off the Field
New Patriots fullback, Danny Vitale spent his Memorial Day a little differently. Instead of eating hamburgers, he strapped on a 20 lb vest and completed the Murph Challenge. The Murph Challenge was started in 2014 as a way to honor fallen Navy SEAL, Lt Michael P Murphy who tragically paid the ultimate sacrifice in combat. Since its inception, the event has raised over $100,000,000 for the LT Michael P Murphy Scholarship Foundation.
The challenge took place on Monday, May 25, 2020. Vitale completed the challenging work out made up of a mile run, 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats, and finishing with another one mile run. This was all while wearing the aforementioned 20 lb vest.
In an Instagram post, Vitale encouraged others to join in the challenge, saying “I challenge everyone to go out there and do something hard. Do something that sucks. Honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their brothers and sisters in service to this nation.” He noted that it’s a very difficult challenge and also said to break up the workout however the individuals want to, just get it done to honor the fallen. He closed out his post by saying thank you to the men and women who are currently serving. “For all of those who have died in service to this country, we love you and God bless you. We will never forget you.”
