Patriots free agent offensive lineman Joe Thuney a perfect fit for the Bengals
Joe Burrow’s rookie season didn’t go exactly to plan for the first overall pick in the NFL Draft. Burrow went on to tear his ACL in a game against the Washington Football Team. His promising rookie campaign came to a halt and Bengals fans are hoping for a full recovery.

Burrow has been working hard to get back to full health and under center for the Bengals. The young quarterback wants to get back on the gridiron to compete with his team next season. His serious knee injury has out a scare into the organization who needs to protect their stud quarterback.
The Bengals haven’t had a strong offensive line under head coach Zac Taylor. In fact, the Bengals haven’t rostered a strong offensive line in some time but things could be changing soon in the Queen City.
Cincinnati is trying to rebuild their offensive line to protect their franchise quarterback. They organization has named Frank Pollack their new offensive line coach. He will need quality players if the Bengals plan to keep Burrow upright all season long.
Joe Thuney is a winner and leader

Patriots free agent offensive guard Joe Thuney is set to hit the open market. Most experts in the league believe the Bengals will heavily pursue Thuney once free agency begins on Wednesday. Teams can legally tamper with free agents on Monday and Burrow’s phone is expected to see the 513 area code pop up once or twice.
Thuney would bring leadership to Cincinnati after spending his entire career playing for Bill Belichick. During his time in New England, the former third-round draft pick won two Super Bowl rings. Last season, Thuney was franchise tagged by New England. He was able to anchor down an offensive line that helped protect Cam Newton.
Pro Football Focus predicts that Thuney will sign a four-year, $57 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals. The Bengals can’t let that happen and should over extend for the All-Pro guard. If the Bengals land Thuney, they shouldn’t stop there.
Draft Penei Sewell to protect Burrow

The Bengals should then use the fifth overall selection in the draft on Oregon tackle Penei Sewell. Cincinnati has been connected too Sewell since the end of their season. Premiere offensive tackles are a premium in the NFL and Bengals could have a slam dunk offseason with both Thuney and Sewell in the fold.
Both players are far from a lock for the Bengals but if they sign Thuney and draft Sewell, they will show Burrow and their fans they are serious. The Bengals haven’t been relevant in a long time, sign Thuney and draft Sewell and they’ll be headed in the right direction.
