N’Keal Harry has requested a trade from the Patriots
The Patriots have upgraded at their wide receiver position in more ways than one. However, one name that people were wondering about was N’Keal Harry. Well, now we know that Harry wants out of New England. Several reports have confirmed that N’Keal Harry and his agent, Jamal Tooson, have requested a trade from the Patriots before training camp.

So why has it gotten to the point where N’Keal Harry has requested a trade from the Patriots? Let’s look at a few tidbits.
N’Keal Harry Requested a Trade Because of The Offseason Upgrades
The Patriots added a ton this off-season. Obviously, we all loved the Patriots signing Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry in free agency. But remember, they also added Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor into the mix as well. The Patriots have no excuse for production this upcoming season. So with these options in mind and our next receiver we’re going to talk about in mind, it kind of makes sense that N’Keal wants out.
N’Keal Harry Requested a Trade Because of Jakobi Meyers
Jakobi Meyers will nicely slide into that number three receiver spot behind Bourne and Agholor. In 2020, everything went up statistically speaking for Meyers, compared to 2019. His targets went up (41 to 81), his receptions went up (26 to 59), and the receiving yards (359 to 729) went up. Meyers is taking an unexpected jump forward in the Patriots offense. So with Meyers producing along with Agholor and Bourne hopefully doing the same, a trade for N’Keal seems logical.
Harry’s Lack of Production in New England
In two seasons with the Patriots, N’Keal Harry has a total of 45 receptions, four touchdowns, and 414 total receiving yards. That’s not great for a guy that was a first round draft pick back in 2019. Maybe Harry hasn’t been used the right way in New England. That’s okay! But his numbers aren’t to die for and it’s not like the Patriots would be losing a top receiver if he is traded.
In Conclusion
If N’Keal Harry is traded, it is what it is. Doesn’t seem like it was working out here anyway. The Patriots will still be much better offensively in 2021, even without Harry’s services. Now the question is: where does he end up? That remains to be seen. Hopefully you get a little value if you trade him. Maybe a 2nd/3rd round pick? 4th or 5th at the absolute worst? Again, we’ll see what happens with this situation.
