NFL Sunday Standouts: Week Five

Week five did not disappoint. In just about every game yesterday someone had a standout game. Players were not afraid to ball out. Without a doubt this was the best week of the young NFL season. So let’s give some praise to these players. Here are the NFL Sunday standouts: week five!

Tom Brady quarterback Tampa Bay Buccaneers

NFL highlights: Tom Brady hits Antonio Brown for 62-yard TD

So how would Tom Brady do a week after his sloppy performance in his return to Foxboro? Brady reminded everyone why he’s the greatest of all time. He showed no mercy against the Miami Dolphins defense. He was finding Antonio Brown at will and showed no signs of slowing down. Brady went 30-41, throwing for 411 yards and five touchdowns. This is the first time in Brady’s career that he threw for over 400 yards and five touchdowns in one game. Even at his age, there’s still a first in his career!

Derrick Henry running back Tennessee Titans

Derrick Henry loves to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars who are currently a mess off the field were also a mess on the field trying to stop Derrick Henry. To nobody’s surprise, Derrick Henry had another big game against Jacksonville. He bullied the Jaguars defense all afternoon long having 29 carries for 130 yards and three touchdowns. Yes, Derrick Henry found the end zone three times. It’s safe to say that Henry fantasy owners were more than pleased with his performance yesterday.

Mike Williams wide receiver Los Angeles Chargers

Chargers retake the lead with Mike Williams' 72-yard touchdown

Mike Williams isn’t talked about enough. He’s had at least one touchdown in four out of the five games so far this year for the Chargers. Sunday was no different. Williams continued his hot start to the season with 8 receptions for 165 yards and two touchdowns. By far, Mike Williams has been Justin Herbert’s favorite target this season.

Justin Herbert quarterback Los Angeles Chargers

The final NFL Sunday standout from week five is Justin Herbert. It would be criminal if he wasn’t on this list. Herbert had himself a day yesterday in the 47-42 shootout win against the Cleveland Browns. He went 26-34 throwing for 398 yards and four touchdowns. Justin Herbert so far this season has been a top tier quarterback and there is no sign of a sophomore slump for him. The Chargers future is in good hands with Justin Herbert under center.
