New Faces of the Patriots
I saw a tweet yesterday about the new face of the Patriots. Tom Brady has been the face of the Patriots since he became their go-to starter in 2001. Brady did incredible things on the field, of course, he also did great things off the field. He was largely involved with Best Buddies and Make-A-Wish. He also has his own company with TB12 and his TB12 method. Now that he’s gone, who is next in line to fill that void? Jules? DMac? Bill? Sweet Feet? Slate?
Something that I just thought of: with Tom gone, who would you say is the current face of the Patriots organization? Assuming, of course, that you can't pick Belichick or Kraft. What player would you pick off the top of your head?

If you’re using the logic of the longest-tenured player, Matthew Slater. Slate the Great. I’ve never seen someone be so effective downing the ball inside the 5 on punts. He’s such an asset. He’s the lone ranger of the trio that I haven’t had the opportunity to meet, yet. Maybe one day!
You could also make an argument for a player who has been a captain for years, Devin McCourty. He’s been so influential on and off the field. Pregame huddle pep talks with the defense and his contributions with the Player’s Coalition. He also raises money every year with his twin brother, Jason, for their organization, Tackle Sickle Cell. He opened the 2019 season with 4 straight games with an interception. I had the pleasure of meeting both of the McCourty’s last April, courtesy of New England Picture after months of my incessant bullying to get photo ops with them!

One could put their money on the flying squirrel, Julian Edelman. He’s widely liked across the region. He’s solidified himself as one of the top receivers of the organization, especially after that insane catch against Atlanta. He also does meet and greets as well as writes children’s books. I also had the pleasure of meeting Edelman back in November thanks to a giveaway from Brianna Pirre on her Instagram.
