New AEW Info, Kenny Omega Signs with All Elite Wrestling
After weeks of rumors and speculation, the “Best Bout Machine,” Kenny Omega has signed with All Elite Wrestling. AEW held a pool party in Vegas, where their upcoming show “Double or Nothin’” will take place, and came with a handful of juicy announcements.
They announced the signing of Nyla Rose, who is the first transgender wrestler to be signed by a major promotion. And they didn’t do it with a huge banner patting themselves on the back on how progressive they are or that they are making history (see WWE). This in itself is a huge step forward, and hopefully, we will see this in other promotions too.
The Best Friends: Trent Baretta and Chuck Taylor came donning denim vests in Outsider fashion (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall). The duo announced they are All In on “Double or Nothin’.”
The Young Bucks announced that they will be working closely with Mexican promotion, AAA. Lucha Bros Rey Fenix and Pentagon crashed the party and attacked Matt and Nick Jackson, leaving Matt with an injured neck. They’ll almost definitely be meeting again at “Double or Nothin’.”
The biggest and best announcement came last, which was none other than the signing of Kenny Omega.
To my surprise, his banner read his name with the tag: “Executive Vice President” under it. That’s 4 executive VP’s now with both Cody and the Bucks all being the same. Kenny looked absolutely enthralled to be there as he was showered with cheers. He was interrupted by fellow Winnipegian Chris Jericho, which unfolded into a brawl, setting up what will almost surely be the main event at “Double or Nothin’.”
A pre-sale for tickets was announced as well. You can get more info at allelitewrestling.com and sign up for the pre-sale there. Codes for the pre-sale will go out Monday, 12pmEST and tickets will be available later that day.
Stay tuned for more on AEW and “Double or Nothin’.” In the meantime, check out the stream on YouTube below.
