Michigan vs Villanova Battle For The March Madness Crown
Michigan and Villanova will battle it out tonight with the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship on the line. After a month of incredible basketball, and insane upsets, we will get to see a champion be crowned. Both teams had completely different paths to reach the final. Villanova hasn’t really been as they have won all of their games in dominant fashion. Michigan has had a couple of close games and has shown grit and toughness the entire way.
The big question, is who will win tonight’s game? It is so hard to pick a dominant number one seed such as Villanova. Villanova head coach Jay Wright, has coached his way to his second championship appearance in three years. Not many coaches can put that on their resume. Nova also has amazing team chemistry. Watching this team just make shot after shot against Kansas was incredible. PG Jalen Brunson is almost impossible to guard because he is such a smart player. He knows when to make certain moves/pass the ball up, and before you know it he has 20 points. Mikal Bridges has also made a ton of noise with his play thus far. The JR stretch guard can go into the post and create nightmares for smaller teams. The only question I have, Is will they be able to stop Michigan on the offensive end? Nova shut down Kansas, but Michigan is a different type of team.
Is anyone giving Michigan a chance? Everyone I have talked to about this game, seems to think that Michigan will lose this game. Well I’m going to have to disagree with everyone. Michigan will win this game, and let me tell you why. Michigan can play surprisingly good defense. They ranked 8th in points allowed this season, and they have shut down teams in March.
Villanova is crazy talented on the offensive end, but I believe that Michigan can combat that with their defense. John Beilein is also one of the best coaches in the nation. He has yet to win a championship, but he has lots of experience. Michigan also plays with the most heart. Watching what Moritz Wagner did to Loyola the other night was scary. He single-handedly kept his team in the game, and was the difference maker. Someone else will have a big game besides Wagner and Charles Mathews. These two guys are the leading scorers of this Michigan team, but someone will help them with the scoring load. This player is going to be Duncan Robinson. Robinson is going to have the game of his life from beyond the arc tonight, and will help his team cut down the nets.
Prediction:
Michigan 71 Villanova 65
