Lock, Fade And Stay Away (9/10/20)
If you want the rest of my lock(s) and all of Fiesta’s, make sure that you are following us on twitter (@thechasers617). Also give our podcast a listen on Sound Cloud (@thechasers) as we release two episodes a week right now. With that being said here are some of my lock(s) for the day, my favorite to fade, and my bet to stay away from today.
Lock(s):
Over 54 (Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs) (1.1u/1u)
The reigning Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs kick off the NFL season with their Thursday Night Game against the Houston Texans. It is going to be an absolute party in Kansas City as they are still celebrating their first Super Bowl title since 1969. Mahomes and company will be looking to start off their title defense on the right foot. The Chiefs have brought back the majority of their roster from a season ago, and will look to repeat this season. Meanwhile the Texans have changed this off season, and we will see how different their offense looks this year.
Houston is also trying to make up for their blunder in the post season last January. I think Kansas City’s offense is going to be on fire tonight, and the over looks like it will be a lock. Houston’s defense is meh at best, and we should see a high scoring affair from the Chiefs. Lock in the over in this one as I am risking 1.1 units to make 1 unit.
Over 220 (Los Angeles Lakers vs Houston Rockets) (1.1u/1u)
I am on this over tonight and there are two reasons why. The first reason is that I think James Harden and Russell Westbrook are going to combine for at least sixty tonight. This game is do or die for the Rockets tonight, they need to win this game to make it a series. If the Lakers win tonight to go up 3-1 this series is over. The second reason is that Anthony Davis is averaging 28.3 points per game this series and LeBron is averaging 28 points per game as well.
If you do the math that is fifty six points combined on average, and if you put the sixty I believe the Rockets duo is going to put together that will put you at 116 points combined between four players alone. Can the rest of the players playing in this matchup get 105 points. I believe so and that is why I am taking the over tonight. Lock it in as I am risking 1.1 units to make 1 unit.
Fade:
Los Angeles Angels -173
The Los Angeles Angels have struggled with the Rangers who have been putrid up until this series. Only positive thing on the Angels side is that Dylan Bundy is on the mound and in his starts this season the Angels are 5-3 in those starts. Bundy has looked good, but with the Rangers controlling the series the way they have is that enough for the Angels to win today? I honestly don’t think so, I think the Rangers go in for the sweep today.
Kyle Gibson is on the mound for the Rangers and they struggle to give him run support. The Rangers have lost Gibson’s last four starts and only have won one out of his eight starts this season. Trend is on the Angels side, but the Rangers are due to get a win for Gibson and today is the day. Fade the Angels today as they will disappoint you.
Stay Away:
New York Yankees -1.5
The Yankees have lost their last three games against Baltimore. The Yankees snapped out of their losing streak last night against Toronto. The Orioles are also hot as they have won six out of their last ten games. They are also right behind the Yankees in the playoff race so this series is very crucial for both teams. New York goes to Gerrit Cole who has struggled as of late, and looks to be not worth the money he got this winter. This will be a very close scoring game, and if the Yankees win this one it won’t be by multiple runs. Stay away from the Yankees on the run line tonight, it is not safe as we don’t know what Yankees team is going to show up.
